  • 2012 Chevy Equinox 1LT AWD V6 w/ All Star Package - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

This is our first American/Canadian vehicle and SUV. We were narrowing down the comparison to this and the Kia Sorento. After test driving both, it was not hard to decide on the Equinox. The only advantage we saw with the Sorento was the larger size, optional third row and 10 year warranty. At least this time, Chevy has matched Kias mileage warranty at 100,000 miles. The drive on the Equinox was smoother and quieter. Console design on the Equinox is more appealing to the senses. Just went over 1300 miles and have been averaging 20 mpg on mix city and highway driving. OnStar is a nice feature but costly. Actual highway mileage remains to be seen. Got it at about $500 below invoice:-)

I purchased this vehicle in July 2011. It was certified preowned with V6 per my request. Drive this 3000 miles a month due to my 10 hr weekly commute out of state for work. Anyway while I agree with others it sucks in city driving, its great for highway. Manage to get 25 mpg at 70 mph. Got this vehile when it was almost 19K miles. Now Im approaching 49K miles. Not had one problem with it. Great runner for me. Purposely wanted a V6 for the ride and ease of driving conditions. Didnt think 4 cyl would handle the PAs valleys on the interstate roads. Thinking trading in for newer Equinox so I can have factory towing package (hd springs & shocks, beefed up tranny cooling lines).

  • Please so far - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

Bought a 2012 LTZ AWD with V6. Significant upgrade from the Honda CRV we traded so Ill temper my enthusiasm until weve had it long enough to put some decent miles on it. Overall, very pleased with the interior (leather is firm but comfortable), features are pretty straight forward and within easy reach, ride is very soft and the cabin is quiet. Especially compared to the CRV. We have two preteen girls so leg room in the back isnt an issue. If there is one complaint, its that the V6 AWD Equinox is a very thirsty creature. Were averaging about 20mpg in mixed driving, however we kind of expected that going in so its not really a complaint.

  • Mostly good - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

The Pros - Good ride, Comfortable, Nice design, roomy interior, Far stronger that other vehicles in his class, Very comfortable highway ride. The Cons - Lousy millage, in the city Im lucky when I get 16 mpg, I just took my first road trip, I have 5900 miles in my Equinox, (I have owned it for 14 months, mostly city driving), after an average of 54.8 mph I got an average of 23.6 mpg. Very disappointing.

We love our new car. It is sporty and fun to drive. I like having the back up camera so I can see what is going on behind me and thankfully I had it the other day or I would have ran over a dog that was behind me.

  • Best decision I could have made - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

I just bought the 2012 Equinox. It is my first new car purchase and I couldnt be happier. The ride is smooth, the leg room is outstanding and I feel very safe driving it in less than ideal conditions.

  • 2012 Equinox exceeds my expectation - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

I am very pleased with everything about the Equinox to this point, I had always been sceptical of crossovers and small SUVs as a taller person. I grew tired of putting $70/week worth of gas in my Expedition, so I decided to give it a chance. At 61 the front seat goes back further than I can have it, not to mention if you do have the front seat all the way back and the rear seat pushed back I can still be comfortable in the back seat. I was hesitant of a 4 cyl SUV, however even living in the mountains the 4 cyl 6 speed in Eco mode does great, I looked down and was doing 80. The features on the suv are amazing too, I am really happy, yes doesnt get 32 mpg but at this point I dont care.

i bought this car in sept of 2011. I drive about 110 miles a day and now have around 13,000 miles on it with NO complaints. I am mainly highway driving getting around 30mpg. Being 66" it is hard to find a comfortable car but this is by far 1 of the most comfortable that I have ever owned.

  • Excellent Vehicle - 2012 Chevrolet Equinox

Recently bought 2012 Equinox LT2 with 6cyl and leather. Super comfortable seats, lots of room and rides/drives really well. MPG is around 24 combined. Back up camera is helpful, info screen is very cool. There is not one thing about it that I would complain about. Auto climate control and heated seats are great. We got the two-tone interior and it looks sharp. Great vehicle for the price

I picked up the 2012 Equinox in Oct of 2011, it was a down grade from the Toyota Tundra for me. This car I got for the fuel economy, well I do get better gas millage then with the Tundra and I thought was let’s buy American. Well that was a huge mistake. Sense I got this car 3 months ago I’ve been in the shop 6 times and they still can’t figure out what is going on with it. Each time I’ve taken it in, I’ve been there for 6-8 hours each time. Some engineer for Chevy decided to not include brackets or mounts for future add on’s. So now that I want to add factory fog lights on my 1LT I can’t. Thanks Chevy. I first got the 4 cylinder which had no pick up on inclines at all, plus just to get me into a car, they wanted to do an aftermarket sunroof. I brought that on back and they put me in the 6 cylinder, that one has no pick up either, but now I’m stuck. The engine is so computerized now there is no way to do anything on the car yourself. Bottom line I Hate This Car!!!!!!!!!
