I have had this vehicle for 4 months. I bought the vehicle as baby number 2 is on its way. I have really enjoyed the vehicle thus far and am really happy I bought the vehicle. I has the storage we need and we both love to drive the vehicle. I use the vehicle for city driving and am very happy with the performance. When I am on the interstate, it drives like an SUV. It has good pick up and has performed very well.

I bought my Equinox 2 yrs ago. It has 60,000 on it now. Well, did. I had to replace the rotors and was due again. Also, the main belt in the motor had to be replaced. There was a knocking sound coming from the back passenger side we could never figure out. Also, my gas gauge was never accurate after filling up. Two days ago I totaled it. I hydroplaned and flipped numerous times before playing ping pong with pine trees. It threw me out of the seat belt ans I landed halfway outside the vehicle. Also, NONE of my air bags deployed. I came out with only scratches & bruises so Im blessed but dont really know how Im feeling about it at this time. Cons out weigh pros but I am alive.

  • 100,000 miles and going strong. - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

I purchased my Nox brand new in 2006. I have had a few issues with the wheel bearings. All have been replaced within 100,000 miles. Other than that it has all been basic maintenance. The tires on my vehicle were great (lasted 95,000 miles). I had my 100k maintenance completed a few days ago, oil, trans fluid, and filters changed. Everything is still running like brand new. Would definitely purchase another Nox when the time comes.

Like everyone else I have had issues. Just under 2 years the tires needed to be replaced. Wheel bearings were replaced under warranty and now that warranty is done need to be replaced again. There is a knock in the gas tank because something is loose. While driving on highway front console shuts off. No speedometer, tach etc. Problems with transmission. Seems to shift into neutral while driving. Cheap windshield wipers, all replaced after 2 years. Windshield chips and cracks very easily... poor design.. Headlight needed to be replaced after 3 years. Blind spots are very big and you need to be careful... Use your mirrors Key constantly sticks in ignition.

When I got the suv I was so excited could not wait to take it home. The only problem it was having was when it started it was making some kind of noise after 2 years then battery did go out on me and I did have to replace it the front tires have to be replace. I am not going to complain. But over all I love it.

I got away from GM for a few years and missed the the GM ride and features. This SUV is excellent, great looks, fun to drive and very good performance!

  • Great car - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

I have had this vehicle for about two months and love it! The exterior styling of this car is sporty and fun. The interior could use a little work, but for the cost its pretty good quality. Gas mileage is reasonable at about 19-21. The leather driver seat is very comfortable, but the back seats are kind of hard. I love the steering wheel buttons for the stereo and cruise control, its so much easier to reach while driving. I traded my 01 Blazer for this car. Even though my old car was comfortable, I love how much more modern this Equinox is.

  • Capital "U" in Utility - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

At just over 38K miles... Where this vehicle shines is its utility: weve towed an overloaded trailer from IL to AZ and moved an 8 couch in the cabin, just to name two examples. The cabin is spacious and comfortable (minus the stiff foam in the seats) for both people and cargo the fold-flat front seats and sliding rear bench are brilliant. It rides nice and smooth, though the suspension makes a lot of noise over bumps. Decent fuel economy, despite the outdated engine paired with an "unsure" transmission (it likes to hunt for gears on even small grades). Only problems so far have been the battery that quit and was replaced under warranty, and the squeaks and rattles that suddenly appeared.

A nice replacement for my Jeep Cherokee. I hope it doesnt follow in the traditional Chevy style, by falling apart, and having cheap drive train components. The interior looks very nice, but it doesnt seem to be all that durable looking. It is very comfortable, and I think will deliver in the long run, but the jury is out. It took me 20 years to return to a GM product. I hope I didnt make a mistake. I paid $26k for a $30k sticker which is well equipped, including On-Star and XM radio. By the way the XM radio is really cool, but at $12.95 per month I can do without it. I know 4 people with this XM radio and none are re-newing. They need to get the price down.

  • Equinox is underated - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

I purchased my Equinox after a failed attempt at downsizing from a mini-van. I first tried a Cobalt, then a Malibu, and finaly settled on the Equinox. On our first long trip (1000+ miles) we averaged 26.5mpg. The average had been slightly higher until we drove through the mountains to visit Crater Lake. I should note that we purchased the Equinox after considering a number of mini-vans. The mini-vans were discounted because of their pricing and poor economy.
