Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

2005 Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Michael Cox - February 2 - 7:03 amNothing but praise for my Equinox, it looks good, is fun to drive, and have had no problems in the first 10,000 miles!!!! The only little dissapointment is gas mileage, Avg. around 19MPG combined so far.

Equinox LT - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By David Bouffard - January 30 - 1:16 amGood all a round vehicle. I rate it an 8 for the total package. The Equinox is a great bargain for all the options. The vehicle will grow on you. The more you drive it the better it gets. My wife has been stopped a few times by people asking her how she likes the Equinox because they were contemplating buying one. The vehicle is great for around town and fo long distance drving.

Pauls Chevy - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Paul - January 27 - 4:43 pmThis is the first time Ive purchased an "American" made car in 10 years. I am very impressed with this Chevy, from the price, quality and gas mileage, GM has come along way. If they keep this up, with their other brands, they will remain the worlds largest auto maker.

Love this car - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox
By djmullins56 - January 25 - 9:31 amWe love this car!! Gas mileage misrepresented but still a great car - The more we drive the car the more we love it. We previously owned 2008 Equinox - a great car - traded in for a newer model. Very comfortable, alot of storage, can not say enough good about this car.

Good First Run-Needs Tweeking - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By planbforme - January 16 - 2:10 pmI bought the Equinox after an accident left me an amputee. Its a great height to sit in. Interior is very roomy. I almost bought a Hyundai Sante Fe but this car gave me more room. Its got great pick up and is fun to drive. The interior could use a few more features like grab handles on the inside above the door entry. The stereo system is confusing to operate. Cup holders in front and back are good. Folding seats are great - Ive already transported a dresser. The back door is sometimes tough to get closed correctly. And - unfortunately, Ive had a fender bender - driver stopped suddenly in front of me - the bumper cracked from slightest impact. Ignition sticks intermittently.

2017 Equinox is just what we wanted. - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox
By Gary Korneliusen - January 14 - 5:41 amBelieve it or not this is our first SUV. We have driven Impalas in the past and still have a 2013 Impala. This is why we decided to lease this Equinox to try it out. So far my husband (he and our 39 year old son) love it. They insisted on a 6 cyl. with AWD so it does handle great and is comfortable. We are all tall so having the extra leg room in the back seat is great when needed. Also, like the good size cargo area. After only 2 weeks I think we all agree this was a good choice for the price.

Equinox - SO - SO - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Jumper - January 13 - 12:53 pmHad the car since Oct. 04. I hate the cloth interior - everything sticks to it, and its difficult to keep clean. I cant put the dog in it, since you cant easily clean dog hairs off. Theres noise at the drivers side window, in the dashboard, and in the steering column. Ive taken it to the dealership twice and they can never hear/find it. There are blind spots because the car has high backseat headrests. There are no "grab bars" in front to help older people get in. Im ready to trade it in!
