Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

A Great Car for the Price - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By John - March 27 - 6:26 amMy wife and I bought our 2010 Equinox 1LT with power drivers seat and the Interface Package a little over a week ago and put around 500 miles on it during a weekend road-trip. It runs very quietly even at highway speeds, and gets remarkable fuel economy for an SUV. The 4-cylinder engine and 6-speed transmission provide plenty of power and acceleration for our needs. It does have the typical SUV blindspots, but thats par for the course when youre buying this type of vehicle. Overall we are very satisfied and my only regret is that I didnt spend an extra $1000 or so and get the basic 2LT for the standard fog lamps, Pioneer audio, automatic climate controls and backup camera.

Very enjoyable to Drive - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By The Den - March 26 - 2:16 pmPicked up Equinox 12/23/2009 have driven 8K as of 4/1/2010 still love to drive it! No problems but disappointed in MPG as its only 2 wheel drive. Most fill ups are 22mpg 75% hwy 25% city the very best on flat ground with tail wind is 29mpg. If it got what onboard calculator said it would great but it reads 2 to 4 higher than actual. I like it better than a lexus RX 10.

Equinox 05 - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By MVO - March 18 - 2:06 pmI have only had this vehicle for one week and so far my only and greatest disappointment is the fuel economy. My old 87 with over 300k miles got better gas mileage than my new car! It falls below the advertised 19 MPG average. Im lucky if I get 14 MPG. I do love how it handles and the spaciousness for the passengers.

Great Vehicle - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By hari40998 - March 18 - 10:00 amBought this vehicle in April - one of the first to buy. Great styling, lots of space for driver and Rear pass. Getting used to window controls in center took a little time. Have about 3K miles on the vehicle. First OIL CHANGE is FREE. Excellent value for the price. Would have loved to take it on the road for under $20K.....

By chulai - March 15 - 4:23 amMy vechicle is very comfortable and fun to drive. It handles great and is easy to get in out of. The appearance is great. Almost looks like the BMW. I have received a lot of compliments on it.

I love my Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By jayna - March 14 - 11:30 amThe only thing that I dont like about the interior design is where they put the cupholders in the front seat. You cant have a drink in the holder with the emergency break up. Everything else is fabulous. Drives awesome, and pretty good gas mileage for an SUV. Theres not another car Id rather have.

Nice truck, but! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Usher - March 13 - 10:00 amChevy did a fine job of remaking the tracker! I chose the Eq over the Ford Escape and a few others. It has a great look and a car like ride. Long live the E.Q!

Equinox - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By Lee DeArmond - March 13 - 3:36 amFirst I am an 84 year old man--The car is fun to drive. My 16 yr old grandson gets credit for the selection but his choice was excellent. It is used mostly around town and only short trips. For older people wanting to scale down it would be hard to beat.
