Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • Excellent SUV - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

I really did some reserach on this class of SUVs and decided on the Nox. I couldnt be happier. Great ride, smooth shifting, great styling. Also, very safe.. with excellent crash ratings on all four sides as well as side curtain airbags. Great for kids, lots of legroom and space for them!

  • Equinox- good looking but certain deficits - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Love the outside look. Inside also pretty but the seats are a little hard. Problem is that I got the top of the line, LT, AWD with leather and heated seats and I feel that I got shafted with some non-amenities. Such are no light in the glove compartment. Terrible smell in car when new; they had to change anti-freeze twice. I heard others have had same problem. Heater dial impossible to reach or know whether it is on. Turn on map light in back and it automatically goes on front and blinds driver. Temperature gauge for outside air goes up 30 degrees when I am in terrible traffic. Too many problems for a nice looking, nice driving perfect size car with a sticker of almost $29,000

  • Looks unique on the road - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Recenty I purchased this vehicle, and have been stopped by several people at gas stations and store parking lots asking what type of car it is and how do I like it. I smile and tell them Chevy and its the best purchase I have ever made. I looked into the Jeep Liberty, Ford Escape, and the Hyundai Santa Fe (since my father has a 2003 Hyundai Santa Fe and is pleased with his purchase). All of the vehicles I was interested in had some features & the price range I wanted, but non had all until we came across the Equinox. We both researched and test drove the Equinox. Thats all it took, I was sold and my dad is ready to trade.

CHEVY DID A REALLY GOOD JOB ON THIS VEHICLE.

  • Chevy Equinox for the family - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The Chevrolet Equinox is a great option for someone who wants an SUV that is comfortable, affordable, and doesnt want to feel like they are driving a tank. It is roomy, even adults have plenty of room in the back, it is also versatile for hauling cargo.

  • I must be dreaming - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

After many years it was time to downsize from the Grand Caravan. The Caravan was one of my all time favorite vehicles. It had a great ride, an incredible amount of space and terrific power. It was a great road car but alas it was using too much gas. I was a amazed when I first saw the Nox. Its a big car! The comfort level is on a par with the caravan. The leg room is unbelievable (both frond AND rear). I took her for her first trip this weekend and although the ride was busier than the Caravan, it was still nice. My biggest fear, a lack of power with the 4 cyl was unfounded. I got 26.5 MPG with AWD in mixed driving, some of it in heavy NYC traffic. No car is this good. I must be dreaming.

I bought this new and drive about 35000 miles a year. First 100000 miles fine. Since then, I have replaced one front wheel bearing, one of the 2 fuel pumps, brakes, the exhaust manifold. It has been a constant, very expensive headache this past year. Paint on the console has worn off. Turning radius is awful. Sell yours before you reach 100000 miles. This vehicle wont help the reputation of American car manufacturers.

  • CHEVY PLEASE CHANGE THE FRONT DRIVERS SEAT!! - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

My review is for a very long test drive. I am a Real Estate Agent and spend countless hours in my vehicle. My husband has the 2017 Chevy Equinox - however, for me, it has numerous blind spots & I was reluctant to buy that model. I was excited to hear they fixed these issues with all of the new 360 camera amenities. Unfortunately, as soon as I sat in this truck - I knew I was not going to purchase it. It drives great. The blind spot notification, navigation & front to back camera shots are phenomenal. The wireless charger? Awesome. BUT, the front seats are beyond UNCOMFORTABLE. I had my sister with me and she confirmed the same thing. I came home and googled the front seats --- apparently this is already an issue within the professional reviews. The seats are too firm, too hard and basically crush your hips. The seams are oddly placed and the seat itself cuts at mid-thigh area. The 2nd row is however, very comfortable and "longer" from front to back. No doubt I would have purchased it if not for the front seats. Chevy, why did you fix all of the other issues but take out a very comfortable drivers seat out for the 2018???

  • Vernal Equinox - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

So far so good. This is whisper quite vehicle that is very comfortable with the sliding second row. The new design is great with all that extra sound insulation you get a very quite vehicle that glides over the road. I assume their will be the GM " haters" but if this was badged AUDI, VW, Infinti etc. people would drool over it. Some styling cues lifted from the MB 350 ML, but hey a lot cars do that and it is somewhat flattering. Build quality seems to be very good with small panel gaps and nice interior (if a little too much plastic) I would recommend this to any one who want great gas mileage with mid size CUV size this is.

  • Great SUV - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

We bought the Equinox just over a week ago after trading in our 2006 Equinox. The upgrades from the older model are great! I love everything about this SUV, from the upgraded interior to the updated exterior. This thing looks sleek, rides nice and is great on gas. I love the XM radio and onstar system. We are looking forward to adding another one to our driveway! I wouldnt buy anything else!
