Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • NIce looking vehicle for the price - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

We bought this vehicle after doing some considerable shopping. We have always had good luck with GM products so we decided to give this a test dive. I love the exterior design, it looks like it would be a more expensive vehicle then what it is.

  • First SUV - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

While this is my first SUV I am not sorry that I purchased it. It is a fun vehicle to drive and now I can finally see what is happening ahead of me as opposed to driving in a car. So far the mileage is as indicated on the invoice sheet.

  • Transmission gone @ 448 miles - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

Was disappointed--BUT dealer has redeemed! This is a cute SUV, but I had the LT, 6 cylnder exactly 2 weeks and the 3, 5, R drum in the transmission went. Prior to the car dying at a busy intersection without warning, I had gone through 3 tanks of gas in 2 weeks (dealership states because of the transmission?) I smelled gas when I would use the remote start. Rear view backup camera was foggy at night. Remote buttons on key were so hard to push it was difficult to turn on the remote start or open the doors quickly. HOWEVER, I have been in touch with the dealer and they will swap out the car for another new vehicle of equal value. I am very satisfied with that outcome and I am willing to give the Equinox another chance!! Thank you!

  • Crossover heaven on a budget - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I am so happy I found the Chevy Equinox in my search. Great styling both inside and out! But I really love the XM satellite radio, The MP3 Player and the hands-free phone features. I get great gas mileage so far, and the machine is tight and high quality. Plus I am kind of psyched to have bought an American company product.

  • A Home Run for Chevy !!! - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

The new Equinox is a huge improvement over the former vehicle. Our last vehicle was a 2008 Equinox Sport. This version has been improved in every way. Smooth ride. Very quiet. Tasteful styling. Better fuel economy. My parents like ours so much that they bought an Equinox LTZ AWD w/ V6.

  • Piece of garbage!!! - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Do not buy this car and if you already have...get rid of it! I have had this car in the shop at least 10 times since I bought it. Ive had problems with and had repaired or replaced the timing chain, actuators and lord only knows what else. 2 weeks ago it did again what it always does...check engine light comes on, makes a terrible rattling noise, service stabilitrak light comes on, goes to reduced power mode WHILE IM DRIVING and then just dies. This car has left me stranded on the side of the road on 3 different occasions. After having my vehicle towed to a GM dealership and complaining to GM about them covering the repairs, they tell me that they will not cover the cost. There has been a service bulletin issued regarding this same problem and a chevy dealership has made repairs before based on this service bulletin at no cost. Im going to sue. Does anyone know of an attorney in Houston that would handle my claim?

  • At last! - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

After waiting over two months for my Nox, it finally arrived! I immediately took it on a 700 mile trip and it performed perfectly. Plenty of pep for a 4cyl. and very comfortable. The cabin noise was minimal so I was able to hear even the most subtle of notes from the XM music. One of the best interior and exterior designs around. Only one design problem noted and thats the inability to load my golf clubs horizontally.

  • Fun to Drive ! Great to look at! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Great car. Easy to handle, nice looking exterior cool features. Only thing I dont like is the plastic on the rear and front bumpers, easy to scratch, must be careful parallel parking, leave a lot of room between cars. Otherwise a great choice. Much better looking and easier to handle than other SUVs in its class.

  • Best SUV Ive ever owned - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The head room is awesome. The sliding back seat was a feature I never thought would be an issue, but its been handy. I absolutly love the electric steering. The seat is high enough that I dont have to climb up to get out and not so high that my kids cant climb in without assistance. The 5 star crash test rating is an added bonus. It has so much room in the back to pack all my necessities, as well as having the oomph to get going, even with the air conditioning on full blast. Its been an all around joy to own and drive.
