Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  I bought this SUV for its roomy interior as both my grandson (15) and I are well over six feet. A fine choice, I might add. That rear seat makes a big difference. The style both in and out are very good. ***** I AM 83 AND I LOVE IT *****

  I have looked and admired this vehcile since it first came out!And I finally got the deal that I wanted and the car that I wanted with the features I desired! This is the only car that my husband and myself both agreed on. We went to the dealership and drove off that day! Plenty of room for 2 growing boys in the back. Looking in from the outside doesnt do it justice! My in- laws even said that from the outside it didnt look like it had much room but when they opened it up and rode they themselves were really impressed! I cant say enough about this SUV other than I waited a long time to fall in love with a car and I found it in the Equinox!

  This is the best "Small" SUV on the road. Forget the RAV 4 (dated), CR-V (unsightly), Ford Explorer (even more dated). Best value for the $. Engine/transition are excellent. Seats are very comfortable. Excellent technology included. Interior fit and finish is excellent and features quality material. I am fully impressed. There is a reason GM cant keep these in stock and is adding capacity to keep up with demand. Also cant believe editors rated only 7.5- did they rate the 2009 Equinox instead?

  Surprised - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

  I found that I like this vehicle even more than I thought I would. Peppier than expected,handles well, and rides comfortably. Plenty of room for me and my large dogs ( two over 100 lbs.) The gas mileage could be a little better and I will agree that the stereo controls could be a little simpler to use. The stereo is excellent sound though. I am really pleased with the styling inside and out.

  The styling got me to look at it, but the drive got me to buy it. What a very nice vehicle, so far I have found nothing to complain about. It has a nimble comfortable drive. A well laid out interior that is user friendly, and passenger friendly. My friends love the movable rear seat that moves back and forth. Would recommend to buy!

  Great vehicle, very minor problem with inside headliner(glue didnt hold), but it is a 1st yr model, and it is very sleek looking with great looking exterior, interior

  Ive had some intial quality problems. The front struts seem to be faulty. They are on back order so it has become a headache to deal with. Overall the rest of the car I have no complants the stereo in excellent. There is more back seat room than any other car Ive been in.
