Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

I love the vehicle. It has tons of room in the front, and back seats. It is a very nice looking vehicle on the outside, but needs a little work on the inside. The interior of the doors are less than luxurious, and the sound system needs imporvement as well. Overall, for the price, its a very good vehicle.

I constantly get complimented on my stylish new vehicle. But not only is it stylish, it is very functional, i.e. sliding/folding rear seats. It is a value buy!

The car is very comfortable, quiet and a major eye-catcher! It seems to be the best value for an SUV of its size. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a mid-size SUV.

Like the power and response. Radio is difficult, but not important. Cup holder in front cannot be used with emergency brake up, doesnt fit. Also, windshield is lower than the moulding around it, so when you are trying to clean the windshield with the wipers, it can only push(snow) so far and then it piles up so you cannot see, especially on the drivers side. Seats are manual, which doesnt really matter except you can only go front and back, whereas a short person like myself needs it to go up.

Completely satisfied with vehicles looks, performance and comfort. I have only 1 problem with my vehicle in that I have an exhaust noise at different speeds and this is very irritating for a new vehicle. A resonator noise.

Just drove 17 hrs a day x 2. c pillar creates a big blind spot. Amazing front seat leg room! had 3 kids in the back shoulder to shoulder, yet they made the trip without complaint. rear knee room is good, but minimal room for feet under the seats. never could position the driver seat adequately. front edge of the seat cushion too high in relation to the back edge. supposed to be adjustable, but never found a good position. The engine had anemic performance... scary at times merging into highway traffic. However, we got 25 mpg with AWD! and 75 mph using cruise control! No other vehicle that I know of can make that claim.

Great car for Mom & Dad and 1.5 kids, plenty of room in the back seat to avoid kicking daddy on those long boring trips to grandmas house. Dont expect super gas milage for those around the town errands but will hold its own on the open road. Fantastic engine will have you leaving BMWs and Mercedes eating your dust when the traffic lights turn green. Buy it you wont be disappointed !

  • Love The Equinox - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Tried all SUVs on the market. The Equinox was the best fit based on comfort ( Im very tall ), gas mileage, looks, and affordability. Give one a try. You will be greatly surprised at the room and gas mileage. In town 25-26 mpg is what I get. I purchased the 2.4 L four cylinder. Plenty of power as long as you dont drag race from light to light. I set out to purchase an import, but GM really made this vehicle appealing. Hope this helps.

On my way to buy a RAV4 and at my wifes request, I stopped at our Chevy dealership to see what the new Equinox might have to offer. I knew it might be cheaper money wise, but I also thought that the Equinox would be cheaper for a reason- lower quality look, feel, ride, etc. The price was the only thing that was cheaper. BOY! Was I surprised- this was quality in every way! And after almost 6000 miles in three months, I have not been disappointed. It gets great mileage. There are no squeaks. It handles in ALL kinds of weather like a champ. The fit and finish certainly equals the RAV4. The back seats are outstanding. XM radio and OnStar standard. Chevys got a winner!

It was my wifes turn to get the new car. I was going to take the 03 Trailblazer and trade the 01 Accord. She wanted a VW CC orlow miles BMW X3 which was okay. So were talking to my son and he tells me hes interested in the 10 Equinox to replace his Z71Tahoe. Then he tells me the gas mileage on 4cyl. Im driving by a Chevy dealer and decide to pop in to look at Equinox. The showroom version was loaded to the gills and it knocked me over. Next thing you know Obama pops the Clunker deal, my daughter gets a new job and wants to unload my 97 Jeep Laredo. Add Chevys Conquest $1000 for a nonGM and the deal was done- problem, couldnt find any left on the local lots.Drove 2hrs for a 2LT
