Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

I dont know about everyone else, but in my area these are extremely hard to find. However, Im glad I held out and ended up getting the Equinox. Its very roomy on the inside despite its compact size, the navigation system is AMAZING, great sound system, adjustable rear seat, blutetooth handsfree, back- up camera, and much more make this car very fun, reliable, and classy. Everyone will comment on it!

Excellent vehicle. However, I think it is over priced from $5000 to $7000. Upholstering appears to have a problem as it relates to heated seats. Leather seats are stretching out and riding up. High pitched sound of transmission is little distracting. Great road car with excellent ride and comfort.

I love my equinox. I was looking at a 2009, but hated that they got the same gas mileage as the Traverse...so I started looking at a Traverse. It was too rich for my blood. Then the 2010 NOX ad looked nice with a much improved MPG...took my wife on a whim just to look at one...both loved the improvements and lower price and left with a new Chevy.

Best value in small/midsize SUV category. Best Chevy Ive owned. Very smooth transmission. Nice acceleration. Great looks (inside and out). AWD is wonderful in rain and snow. I got it loaded and couldnt be happier. I read all the ratings in here and most are on the mark. Cupholders are flimsy, but the rear headrests have not been an issue. I would highly recommend this SUV

Weve owned our Equinox for about 4 months now and have 4000 miles on it. The longer we own it, the more we like it. We test drove many other vehicles but just kept coming back to the style, room and comfort of the Chevy. Were big Honda fans so the CR-V was the leading candidate going in but did not compare well at all to the Chevy in style, room, interior features or design. The Honda seemed very cheaply built compared to the Equinox. Everyone should at least give the Equinox a good look while shopping for their next crossover. features and design many other vehicles and just kept coming back to the style, room and comfort of the Chevy

First time that I ever purchased a car that had absolutely nothing wrong with it. It has not been back to the dealer since I picked it up. First scheduled trip to the dealer will be for an oil change and tire rotation in two weeks. Very satisfied with this vehicle and the quality of the product.

  • Good vehicle, bad customer service - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Mileage wise this vehicle gets about what it advertises. Im getting around 22-23mpg in the city. Havent had a chance to take it on a road trip yet, so I cant speak for the highway mileage. My major complaint is that I ordered a cargo shade upon my purchase and after nearly 2 months its still on back order, and no one can tell me when I can expect it. I called GM and they contacted a dealership that had a cargo shade in KC, MO and the customer who ordered that cargo shade had to wait from July till Dec. If you want an accessory upon purchase then forget getting it in a reasonable amount of time. This bad experience has made me feel the car was not worth buying.

When Sitting in Drivers Seat, It is fairly Hard and close to the door frame, which hits you in the shoulder. Otherwise Nice Car

Really fun to drive...it has excellent in and out space especially the rear bench seat. The fold down front passanger seat has been really useful for larger carry items. The manuverability is great. I was really suprised how light the steering is on this SUV. The radio controls take some time getting used to, but once you do, its a great sound system. And I cant say enough about Onstar! Dont know how I got by without it. Saves you lots of time. I went to a ball game and I couldnt remember if I locked my car (sound familiar?) All it took was a call to Onstar and avoided the long walk and waste of time. Ahh! the price of peace and mind. And its free for 1yr! Cant beat that.
