Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

Real Performer Plus - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Walkabout - November 5 - 6:40 amI purchased the 2-LT with the optional V-6 engine 264 HP. Im glad I did. Planning on lots of X-country & long haul driving. Got 22.5 mpg on the first 300 mile trip. Expecting more as engine breaks in. Once I got used to how the trans shifted I was able to really make the car move out. Very smooth and powerful acceleration. Very fast and sure. The manual shift feature really adds a sportiness to the performance. Very sure footed and sporty ride. Feels great as speed. Corners real well steering is responsive and accurate. Interior design nice.Gauges easy to see and read. Night gauge and dash lights are cool. Remote start fog lights rear backup camara nice. Dual exhaust looks and sounds great

06 Equinox - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By Jmmoore02 - November 3 - 6:50 pmHaving owned for about three months now, my family of three thoroughly enjoy our new SUV. The styling strays from the minivan crowd and moves toward the truck-SUV group, but without the poor mileage. Ride and road noise are very agreeable and we are fans of the 17" wheel and tire combo for looks and ride characteristics. The tried and true 3400 is not a power-house in this application, but seems very peppy and is plenty for the majority of our in- town drives. The long list of standard features is a welcome treat and excellent crash safety scores justify the purchase with my family on-board. A long-time Chevy fan, I am very pleased with this new model so far.

First GM vehicle in the family - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Igor - October 25 - 7:50 pm4cyl, 2LT, FWD, power liftgate. It feels like a European car - full of high-tech features, nice handling, smooth ride, quiet, well-built, economical. Everything is automatic, from lamps to climate - you just enter it, switch to "D", drive, get the key out, leave. Smooth, quiet ride. Looks and feels way more expensive than it is. For families with car seats - it is easy to remove rear headrests by unlocking them first. Just insert a thick needle (or straightened paper clip) into each small hole in the plastic ring around the metallic rod of the headrest, and use something firm to push the needle towards the lock. Once both locks are unlocked, the rear headrest slides up easily.

By oscar007 - October 20 - 11:23 pmWe have owned our Nox for 2 weeks. We drove most of our 3700 on a 3300 mile road trip. 2 adults and 3 children with luggage. We drive speed limits for the most part and got 20 to 23 mpg averaging 21.8 overall. The cars computer rated it at 21.8 and so did our manual entry.miles on

Like it! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Rob - October 9 - 12:33 pmReally enjoy driving this vehicle. Feels like it sticks to the road with the AWD. Has been driven 2,000 miles in two months and it has pep and rides great. Bought it after the employee pricing incentives and paid less. Under $21,000. I still own a Pathfinder but the Equinox drives better.
