Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

Poor equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By 987sep - February 14 - 10:00 amThe exterior of the new Equinox is very apealing. But after owning one for 2 months I regret the purchase. After our first long trip I found the seats to be very unconfortable. Head rests cause very little upper back suport. Also have had issues with strut noise and small issues as well. The overall quality I feel; is poor. I think the Equinox is a good concept but needs some work to improve the overall package.

Equinox LT - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By twbucki - February 14 - 10:00 amOnly complaint is a vibration just after initial start. When putting vehicle into gear there is a vibration shortly after movement begins then drives great. Smooth comfortable ride.

decisions... decisions... - 2014 Chevrolet Equinox
By Cheryl G. - February 11 - 5:27 amI bought this car used, in early aug. 2016. Its the ltz model with awd v6. All the rating of 4 stars would be 4 plus. So far I am very happy with equinox. I have not had any problems, it drives and rides nice. Also on the ltz model at least there are rear air ducts under the front seats.I think you should drive the 4 and the 6cyl engine before making your decision tho.

2010 LTZ AWD - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By irwin2842 - February 10 - 6:50 pmLove the cockpit feel while driving this car. Also the blue tooth is awesome. I am getting used to all the new buttons but very similar to my Acadia just smaller but drives and rides like a dream. Excellent service from my dealer and priced very well. Who could ask for more? Way to go Chevy :)

Great SUV! - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By kristin - February 10 - 2:23 pmWe bought this vehicle preparing for our growing family. It is a great size for parking, weekend trips and everyday driving. It has great cargo room, very functional interior and great exterior styling. I like the fact that it does not look like every other SUV out there!!! We have had no problems at all.

Cant beat the leasing price - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox
By Poor Drivers seat - February 5 - 4:57 amPicking up a 2017 Equinox 2LT today. On the way home, I was constantly changing the seat positions and could not find a comfortable position. The seat is similar with the Chevy Cruze, the front of the seat does not tilt down far enough and feel like sitting in the bucket. I wish the seat has five more degrees of travel. Im thinking of taking the vehicle back to have a 1/2 inch spacers added to the rear of the seat. All the money GM spent studying seats, and they still did not get it right. They need to improve is the drivers seat and provide more adjustment. Update: Dealer did not want to install the spacers so I did it myself. Used two lug nuts acting as the spacers and longer bolts, I had the rear of the drivers seat raised about 3/4". My gosh, its so comfortable now. Simple thing like this can make driving more pleasurable.

More car for the price - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By pdm777 - February 3 - 2:23 pmI looked at the 09 Equinox and was not impressed loved the Traverse...but a little pricey and did not like the gas mileage...when I saw an add for the 2010 Equinox I had to go look...it was totally tricked out with more room, and better MPG and a total redone. Loved that it was also less expensive and had more features added.

Love this SUV - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Frank Clark - January 30 - 8:20 pmHad to order the vehicle to get the options and color we wanted but well worth the wait. Took our first road trip within two days of delivery - Jacksonville,FL to Chattanooga, TN yielded 26.6 MPG in regular mode. Return trip in ECO got us 28.5 mpg. Mostly Interstate highway at 70-75 MPH. No problem with acceleration or power in ECO mode on the interstate. Not bad out of the gate. This vehicle is a winner. Glad GM got it right. Comfortable ride, pleasure to drive. Not as quite of a ride as we remember from our test drive, but all in all a great SUV.

My Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Darlene - January 22 - 6:10 amI have only had this SUV for 7 mos and alredy I have fixed/replaced 3 things on this truck. They are: the sensor that controls the dash indicators, the radio, and the bowtie on the tailgate. However, this is a good truck.
