Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

I traded my Camaro for my new Equinox! It is absolutely fantastic. I love the handling ability and all the storage. My friends and very tall Father love the extra leg room in the back seat and also love the adjustable back seat feature! I feel very safe and secure in my Equinox and would recomend anyone trying it out. I love it so much, I talked two of my best friends into purchasing one and also my Grandma!! She loves it better than her van and shes 68! Thanks Chevy!

Chevrolet did a fine job of combining a great looking exterior to a well thought out and practical interior. The rear seat room has to be seen to believe and the features like the multiple powerpoints and rear fold away table are very nicely done. The fit and finish are excellent and my vehicle is completely loaded with an MSRP at $28,000. The only drawback was the percentage of foreign components GM put in the vehicle. On-Star, in car telephone, 6 disk CD changer and the huge sunroof are great options. Everything being considered, this is a very nice mid sized SUV with a carlike ride.

  • High Mileage is a Farce!!! - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

I love my new Equinox, but am very very disappointed in the "so-called" 31mpg. I opted for the 4-cylinder engine and FWD instead of AWD to extend my wallet at the gas pump. Turns out I now receive MUCH less gas mileage than I did in my previous car which was an Impala with a 6-cylinder engine. If I knew then what I know now, my trade would NOT have been the same. After reading all of the suckers online who join me with the same problem, I believe its time that GM pays up! I wont give up till they give me an answer and solution to my new gas hog.

The last car I bought was a SAAB convertible, last year of the classic design. I loved that car....called it Sven and we were together 6 years. Now I have an Equinox, and I love this one even more. I call it Heifer because Im in wine country now & it fits in with the cows.

Had this vehicle for about a month now. Very responsive 3.4 L V-6, great handling. The fun of a car with the storage of an SUV.

  • How I feel - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I love this car, its very comfortable to drive. I think that it eats a little too much gas, but since I bought it, I dont seem to mind driving. It has plenty of leg room in the back, and the exterior is gorgeous.. I think that all of the cars should have a six-disc CDchanger. I would definitely recommend this car to someone to buy.

  • I like it for now - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I had nothing but used vehicles prior to this, and for the reliability and affordability, you cant beat it. The V6 purrs on the open road, but can be choppy in stop and go traffic. I really wanted something bigger, but until I can afford it, this is a great transition vehicle.

I love this SUV! It is beautiful inside and out. It handles very well and is not at all bad on gas. I love this car and will drive it until the wheels fall off. After that I will buy another!

  • Equinox but not equal - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Terrific Value. My first domestic vehicle in 20 years. I compared BMW X3, Volvo XC 90, Lexus 330 and Acura MDX. Although the interior is not the best appointed in the class, the exterior is a grabber. I loaded mine up to be fair with the competition. With my GM supplier discount I paid $24,455 and got $1000 truckfest rebate. I like the no hump in back for kids to get in and out easily. Fuel economy is better than average, but I was suprised my insurance co. rated it a 16. I am looking forward to take it on vacation and see how it does on a longer ride. Maybe GM is on the right track to bring back the aging yuppies!

I have purchased 3 new cars in the last 10 yrs, and this by far exceeds any expectation that I had. The service that was given, the quality of the product, and the overall experience was exceptional. I have never owned a chevy product... They now have a customer for life
