Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • Better than ever! - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

I purchased the 18 Equinox LT for $21,100. What a great deal! The fuel economy averages between 38-41 MPH on the highway, 32-35 in the city. The peppy 1.5 Turbo is great for acceleration vs the previous model. I have no problems with the front seats. I put over 7,000 miles on the Equinox in 3 months and have no complaints about comfort. The rear leg room is also impressive.

  • Enjoy the car - but not the gas mileage! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I really like the car alot. The exterior design is beautiful - looks like a much more expensive car. Comfort is very good also. The leg room in the back is by far the best. My only problem is the gas consumption. Overall, I would recommend this car.

This vehicle has received many comments regarding its design and overall looks. It is very peppy, handles easily, is easy to park and maintain. The rear seat slide feature adds more than enough room for passengers and groceries. I am looking forward to taking a long trip vacation in the near future. Because of its mileage capability, the trip should be inexpensive and great fun.

  • I love my Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

It is very attractive and fun to drive. You sit up high so that you have a good field of view and it still allows you to get in and out easily. I am only 5 3." The seats adjust to my stature very well. I can slide my groceries and golf bag in and out of the back with ease. It has lots of pep yet excellent gas mileage. I love this vehicle!

  • Drove 275 miles to get one! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

My wife and I had ooked for one since March and finally got our today. It was the LT1SE package. Black with Tan interior leather and it is great looking. It looks like the new BMW SUV. We turned heads the whole ride home. The car handles great. Nice turn radius and low road noise. The inside is very spacious and very driver friendly to operate. We got a shade over 24 MPG on the first interstate drive. It will go up after it is broken in a bit. I am extremely pleased with this vehicle and with the money I spent. Great bang for the buck.

  • EQUINOX 6 Cylinder Is The ONLY Way To Go!! - 2017 Chevrolet Equinox

I rented the 6 cylinder model (the review options didnt have the 6 cylinder option available to select) two weeks ago for my week long trip to Maine from Avis at Boston Logan airport. Had 10K miles on it so its been used but I was really impressed with the throttle response and handling in Boston area traffic and going up and down East Coast highway 1. The car was tight and had no unusual or annoying squeaks or vibrations. -At home in the high mountains out West I drive a 1 ton Dodge 4x4 pickup and a Toyota FJ 4x4 equally off road and on pavement so I pay close attention to unusual noises, etc. This Equinox had the sunroof option - quiet operating and quick. Had plenty of room for two large rolling duffle bags and backpacks and was a pleasure to drive - with or without gear. Im a fit 510" and the seats are very comfortable and adjusted perfectly to my liking. The interior was nicely appointed and not cheap looking. Really seems to be a great SUV with a peppy power plant. Yep, Id buy one! 12/03/16 UPDATE: I bought a 2017 Equinox Premier Edition in the Patriot Blue color and remote start option for our cold climate!

problems with front struts from date of purchase. To much engine noise for new Vehicle. Vehicle not as roomy as advertised.Should be at least 215 hosepower.

  • a few complaints - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The car is well built, fun to drive, and very comfortable. My only complaints are that there is no built in ashtray for smokers, and no shield to keep water out if window is partly down. Both these items have to be bought, ordered, and installed. Also, power window buttons on the center console was a dumb idea. Small things, but overall is a great SUV for the price.Previous problems with struts, smell, and water in tire well, have been fixed at factory on new 2005s

  • I love my mini SUV! - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

I love my new car! Im not the greatest driver in the world and after the arrival of my second child I decided I needed a bigger car. Coming from a Honda Accord I knew I wouldnt be able to drive anything too BIG. I test drove the Equinox and I loved it! It is easy to drive, easy to park, and GREAT on gas mileage. It fits me my husband and our two children perfectly. It also has a lot of cool features like shelves in the very back and an adjustable back seat!
