Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

Overall a good vehicle. Very comfortable on long trips with an excellent lumbar control and drivers side seat with many positions to choose from. Actual mileage averages 18.5 mpg with 14,000 miles on the vehicle. The motor is fairly strong and responsive. There is ample room if youre going to haul a lot around. The rear seat movement is simply awsome. With the rear seat folded down there is more room than you would imagine for a vehicle this size. I would purchase this car again if I had too.

Great SUV for the money. I have had my Equinox for a year now (25K) and have had no problems...Knock, Knock.. The car is spacious inside and has great acceleration and handling. Very fun car to drive.

  • Best CUV - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

I test drove nearly every similarly sized suv/cuv on the market and the Equinox was the best in my opinion. I even test drove the new Hyundai Tucson that has only been in the dealership for a week. The Equinox had the quietest cabin, good ride and handling, and the features I wanted for a great price. Im getting about 25 mpg in mixed city/highway driving. I expect this will get better when it breaks in more. Also, the weather has been in the 20s.

  • The 2.0 Turbo - An Amazing Improvement - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Going from the sluggish 4 cyl 2012 Equinox to the much improved 2018 Equinox LT with the 2.0 Turbo 4 cylinder was an amazing improvement. I reviewed all options carefully before buying. I went with the Confidence and Convenience package along with the Sun and Infotainment package. These two packages with the LT added all of the extra bells and whistles that I needed. I did not want to pay more $$$$ for the expensive Premier level. It still had more expensive options which raised the price way too much. ALSO - I bought this through a Chevy dealership and presented my Costco Card to get their Winter Holiday deal. This meant Supplier Pricing plus a $700 gift card directly from Costco. It took 9 weeks to arrive but it is as good as cash at Costco stores. ALSO EVEN MORE - Before buying, I contacted my GM CARD credit card. They added an additional $1,000 to the points I already accumulated on my GM card. Combined with an aggressive Chevrolet rebate, the Costco Supplier price and the GM Card extra cash, the deal was too good to pass up. Combined, it made great financial sense to buy this new vehicle at such a discounted price. Ford, Toyota, Honda, Mazda and Chrysler couldnt come close to this deal!

  • Hits all the right marks - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Traded in a 2005 Honda CRV and considered trading for a new one. However, the Equinox is much more vehicle for the money and doesnt have the anonymous styling of the Honda. Parked it in an airport garage and when I returned from my trip a Lexus RX was parked next to it. Without the name badging, you could not have told the difference. The 6 speed auto is smooth and responsive, and the 6 cylinder, while a little thirstier, has plenty of pep. Interior design is well thought out and much classier than the competition. Waited several months to get the right exterior/interior color combination but it was worth it. Dont expect much discount off MSRP.

  • Great SUV - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

This is a fun SUV to drive, and great space, with the rear seat ability to slide back and forth, increasing leg room, or rear cargo space.

Traded a 2000 Blazer for my Equinox and Im very pleased with the gas mileage. Got a great deal in Lancaster, pa- especially with Chevy’s employee pricing. So much room in the back seat- a person could sleep on the floor. Love the AWD capability. Very pleased-and would recommend for purchase

In 2005 I purchased an Equinox LT AWD that gave me great service. I purchased a 2010 LT2 with some add ons. Since I have some mountains to drive in I chose the V6. It has great power and excellent fuel economy. After about 400 miles I took it on a trip of approx. 475 miles. Driving interstate at 70 MPH it averaged 27.3 MPG. It is a great improvement over the older ones. We like the entry level and are very satisfied with it. The 6 speed automatic works great. The driver info center is great. Great sound system. I feel it is a much better buy than the Asian imports.
