Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

LS AWD EQUINOX - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By k.r. - May 8 - 5:06 amThis is my first SUV and Ive done extensive research prior to buying. I love this SUV. It handles like a car. I can see clearly in the front and the back. The front seat does amazing things, and with my children its perfect. Chevy definitely hit it right on target with this truck. The only thing I dont like is the gas mileage.

05 Equinox feedback - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Cary Watkins - May 3 - 1:43 amI was in need of replacing a 99 Expedition that was a PIG on fuel, and rode like a hay wagon. I wanted something smaller, comfortable, a GM product, and more economical. I selected the Equinox, after looking at the Saturn and found it to be well. BLAH. I looked at Buick and found them to be well to dressed up, and so as I am partial to Chevrolet and not too crazy about the big price on the Trailblazer, the Equinox fit my needs.

Watch for Blind Spots - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Amy - May 2 - 12:36 pmSo far my Equinox has been a great purchase. However, if you drive in the city the head rest on the back seats create a horrible blind spot. I had to get the dealer to remove them so I could see. Also, I dont find that the air conditioner cools that well. I thought something was wrong with it, but the dealer checked it and said it was fine. Ive had better cooling cars. Its a comfortable SUV to ride in. It has the look of an SUV, but it drives like a car.

Best purchase I ever made - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox
By tmccann11 - May 1 - 11:35 pmI did a lot of research before finally pulling the trigger and I couldnt be happier with my Equinox. Coming from an Accord that was baby for the past 5 years, it was a bit of a change but in a good way. While it takes some time to get used to the size difference, the Nox runs like a dream. The interior is roomy and stylish. It doesnt have the cheap feel like the Rogue that I test drove and has more curves than the CR-V. The pickup on the V4 takes some getting used to coming from a manual trans, but after 500 miles, I got it down. Rearview parking assist is a great feature as is the all wheel drive. Couple that with getting a 2LT for 2000 less than the TMV and Im in heaven.

Best Chevy product I have ever owned. - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By jimmyc - April 30 - 12:46 pmI am 41 yrs. old. I am a machine tech. at delphi automotive in Warren, Ohio. I think I know a little something about machinery, and let me tell you, I love my Equinox. I have owned many cars in my time, all GM. I won`t drive nothing else. And by far the Chevy Equinox is the best I have ever owned. The Equinox is very solid, well put together machine.

Extremely pleased - great for tall drivers - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox
By ljski - April 29 - 2:18 pmOnly 350 mi. on it so far. An excellent choice if you put high priority on fuel economy, a comfortable & quiet ride, comfortable seats, leg room, the capacity versatililty of SUV. Its a great highway cruiser offering one of the most pleasing & serene rides Ive experienced in a vehicle of this price. Its relatively heavy which, along w/ its high waistline translates into a solid secure feeling. But it wont wow you with its pep or its cornering (which are still certainly acceptable) Great front & rear seat room for 64" guy; headroom is good even w/ a sunroof. I chose it over RAV4, CRV, Venza and Sorrento. Seems good value if you can get at invoice w/ 0% finance and $1500 cash bac

We Love our Equinox - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By cktuba - April 28 - 10:00 amHad it 4 wks now. Love it more. We drove all the SUV we could in 10 days. Love the feel, handling, easy turning, and love the roominess and how nice it drove over allkinds of roads, real comfortable. I did not get back problems after 2 to 3 hours of non stop driving. We have not found one thing we disliked. Nice to fill up and it takes less than $25 to fill it. Lots of room for storage and I have a Thule and we put dogs in rear and luggage on top. took a few minutes to change the top luggage rack for the tubThule and get it on The lights are great at night, the mirror was great as well.
