Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • Comfort in driving, sluggish engine - 2014 Chevrolet Equinox

The engine should have more power. Roomy and comfortable to drive.

  • 2018 Transmission failed after 3 months - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

I have had my 2018 equinox for 3 months, and I loved it until 2 days ago when the transmission failed. The part is back-ordered, so obviously this is happening to other people. The dealership says it could be 2 days or 2 weeks.... and they dont have a loaner car. Im pissed.

  • Has to be best in class - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

I bought a Equinox 1LT AWD with the available 3.0L DI V6 engine, it was hard to find for under 29K, but I found one. I have to say, right when I saw the Nox, I fell in love with the design. The interior impressed me even more, love the dual cockpit design. Ive had it a few weeks, and no problems to list. Very easy to drive. Also, if your going to be buying a Equinox with AWD, I do suggest getting the V6 as well. The 4-cylinder is ok, but I needed the extra power of the V6, thats subjective to how much power you want.

  • Great Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I am 100% satisfied with my Equinox and then some. GM has finally produced a solid SUV, and after test driving a Ford Escape and Saturn VUE , the Equinox was clearly the better truck.

  • Best I have ever seen - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

This is such a comfortable vehicle. It handles so very easily. All radio, heater, a.c. controls are accessable with get ease and comfort. The controls are close to the driver which makes it safer to reach for it without losing control or swaying on the road. The accessory plugs are great and the adjustable "trunk" cover is such a great idea. We love it!!!

I like when people stop me and ask "what ist that" or "thats sharp". Plus the gas mileage is comparable to my old grand am gt.

  • Good decision - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

I test drove several cars and SUVs for my birthday last year. My friend noticed that the only one that I truly seemed comfortable driving was the Equinox. I have taken my car on several long trips and always feel energetic instead of tired when I arrive. I enjoy sitting higher and still feeling like Im driving a car. Lots of people have commented on the color and like the look of my car. I get about the same gas mileage as my old car that had a 4 cylinder in it but I have more passing power now.

  • What?? No CD player in 2016 Equinox - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

Buying a 2016 Ford Edge because the 2016 Equinox does not have a CD player which I need when I travel. Have driven an Equinox and was set to buy one until I realized they did away with it. Poor GM decision!

The truck is so comfortable and easy to drive. I feel it is the best truck I could of gotten for both power and gas mileage in the suv class. I am completely happy with my new purchase.

  • love it hate it - 2014 Chevrolet Equinox

Its a comfortably reliable SUV. The steering goes out. Chevy is aware but doesnt recall. And has a clause in warranty to not cover. But I love my SUV. Hate Chevy for not fixing a issue that there aware of. Safety concern.
