Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

I believe that this vehicle is the best fit in the complex world of SUVs. It is stylish, economical and good looking. The power steering is great.

  • The best deal for your money! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I have only had the vehicle for 3 complete days now and I have not had any complaints with this SUV. The Nox is the best vehicle for the money when compared to the other SUVs from other manufacturers. To better experience the Equinox, get all available features.

  • Worst Purchase Ever - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

Ive only ever driven Hondas and made the leap of trying a 2011 Chevy Equinox. I bought a used Chevy with 67k miles on it, and 5k miles later, the A/C goes bad. The air condenser is leaking and Chevy charges over $800 for a repair. Of all my years driving a Honda, Ive never once had an A/C break and Ive driven them well over 175k miles. So much for buying an American car. It was a waste of money to buy something so un-reliable. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone.

  • Guarantee youll love this car! - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

G.M. is finally coming back to what I remember as a fine automobiles in the 50s and early 60s. Ive owned what some consider as the best, Lexus LS, Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Jag XJ 6, and I wouldnt trade this 2010 Equinox for any of them. This little 4Cy is smooth, peppy and very, very quiet. Exterior and interior show quality workmanship far superior to anything in this class and price. My wife prefers this to her Buick Lucerne, which I think is also a nice vehicle. The Nox has beautiful lines and I get compliments all the time from both men and women. This car proves that Americans can still design and build a quality car that most can afford and will enjoy driving!

This car is very nice from the exterior! GM did a great job designing this SUV. I am sorely dissapointed however with the car them longer I own it. So far its been in the shop 4 times. Faults from warped front discs (brakes) to a bad rear diff. to an electrical problem to a bad sensor in the engine. I have come to HATE the interior. Granted this is the LS version and only a measly $20,000, but how about a map light...or any light near the RV mirror!!! WTF was GM thinking. The ONLY interior light (beside the light in the trunk) is on the ceiling between the front and back seat. You are out of luck if you need to read a map in the dark. Also no hanger hooks for dry cleaning. Wake up GM!

  • Be careful with this car! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I bought this car after test driving and reading online the glowing reports of this vehicle. Never in over my 36 years of driving have I been so disappointed in a car. I have had it to the shop for: Key stuck in the ignition, seat heaters not working, starter not functioning ( at least 6 times) Brakes making noises ( at least 12 times) re-progamming the CD player, transmission....need I go on. I write this as my car is now in the shop for the 3rd time in 3 weeks! Stay away from this car..very disappointed

  • Super fuel efficient SUV - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

GM had it coming even before the gov guys gave them a kick. This one appears to me as the most fuel efficient 4-cyl non-hybrid, non-diesel SUV on the market. 2010 Equinox was redesigned inside out. The front is great, the side seems like stolen from Merc M class but the back is oldish. The interior is stolen from Volvo -- the vents, dash layout, even the key fob. Very roomy on the inside, the back seat bench slides back and forth, front seats are very accommodating, very! The trunk is on the smaller side though. As to fuel economy -- the numbers are great but you sacrifice driving dynamics. A little slow to speed up from stand still but then OK. 4-cyl a little noisy.

  • Nice Ride for the Price - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

So far I have nothing negative to say about my new Equinox. The first tank of gas (mostly hwy) we were over 30 mpg! This is definitely another step in the right direction for GM.

  • Equinov Great - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

This is my first SUV. Handles well on long drives, very comfortable. The only negative would be mileage - even on highway I was only averaging 22 mpg. Have recommended it to others.
