Overview & Reviews
Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.
Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

My 2010 Equinox - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox
By Dawg - May 20 - 9:30 pmI traded in 05 Dodge Magnum. Needed something with room but that got better mileage. Equinox was my choice. I love my crossover. Fremont Chevrolet was the best experience I have had with a Dealership.

Great Vehicle - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By Mark Yanulavich - May 17 - 10:16 pmGreat handling and great looking vehicle. No problems whatsoever. Exceptionally roomy. Gas mileage a little less than advertised (Im getting around 18 City, 22 highway). Rear storage should be redesigned to maximize space.

Fun Ride - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
By Sabrina - May 12 - 1:34 pmThis is an excellent first time SUV but. The entertainment center is excellent, I wish the speakers had a little more power but I would have to have gotten the premier, I love my panoramic roof, I love my huge touch screen, heated seats work so well they even get a little of your lower lumbar. I also used to drive with back support, but I havent needed to in this car. The safety features are awesome, for a little more money I could have gotten the 360 view. But the rear camera does a great job of seeing people on either side of the car. I highly recommend it.

Love it so far! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By mikek - May 5 - 1:00 pmI test drove a FWD LT w/16" rims in red. In my opinion the Galaxy silver AWD w/17in rims has a much better feel and a far better look.I am still getting used to people in other cars tapping their passengers and pointing at my car, and taking second looks. A very nice driving experience.

Chevrolet Equinox - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By Rebecca Thayer - April 30 - 3:30 amI have had my car for 3 weeks. It has a lot of power and an amazing turning radius. The interior window display and cup holders are awkwardly placed but I love the space allotted between the two front seats. Its a very smooth ride. XM radio is awesome. The back seat space is great. Its a perfect car for a mom. Lots of power and smooth ride. Easy to handle.

Chevy Equinox- Curb Appeal? - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Betsy - April 29 - 7:53 amThis is the first SUV that I have owned. I went from a Cadillac Fleetwood, which I have been driving for the last 21 years, to this car. Although this car does not have the same ride as the Caddy, it has a smooth ride. I opted not to take the OnStar, because I felt I did not need this feature. While I miss the little things, such as climate control, passenger power seats, power antenna, soundproofing, I love the roomy interior, leather seats, panoramic windows, and gas mileage. I love sitting higher, and the seats are contoured, and comfortable. I have a moonroof. It handles much better than the Jeep Grand Cherokee, and Liberty that I use for work.

Love My "EEK" - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox
By Sue - April 18 - 2:20 pmI love my "EEK". It is sporty and fun to drive. The moveable backseat is a great idea and provides lots of legroom for a 6 and taller person. The dashboard looks great with the stainless console.

Good First Vehicle - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By EMills - April 17 - 9:23 pmGood visibility. Fairly tight turning radius. MP3 CD player is a sanity saver. Acceleration is a bit sluggish. Automatic headlights good. Interior dome light can be turned off in sub-optimal situations. One-off wipers excellent feature. In winter, heater warms up quickly. Easy to enter and exit with driver/front passenger doors partially open. Real mileage is 20mpg. Cargo area high enough to not require bending to place and remove items.

Fun in Southington - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By Mara Little - April 17 - 6:36 amIts a fun vehicle to drive. Its got great handling and good acceleration. The radio has great sound and I love the fact that it tells you the songs that are playing. So far the gas mileage isnt as good as I thought it would be. Im hoping as time goes by, it will improve. All in all I love it, and would definitely recommend it.

Fun to Drive! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox
By nancyS - April 16 - 10:00 amI had a 2001 Suburban which is a top notch vehicle but I did not need an 8 passenger vehicle for only 1 person (or 2 at the most)..plus the issue of costing $50 to fill up every week. We ended up with a salsa red front wheel drive LT with leather..I totally agree that leather makes a huge difference in the comfort factor. I am anxious to see what kind of mileage it gets as I only have 75 miles on it. So far, this car exceeds my expections in almost every area!
