Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

This car is a brilliant work of auto- motive design. The design of this car, both inside and outside,is just terrific. The looks of this car are outstanding, and are really breathtaking. The quality, versatility and the way it handles the road are second to none. Last but not least, it is priced right.

  • Juuuust what I wanted - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I was in the market for a midsize SUV last year, but didnt find any of the available vehicles that attractive. I had myself talked into a Ford Escape, but hated the fact that there was NO legroom for rear passengers, and the overall look was only OK. Then I saw the Equinox at the Detroit auto show. It seemed to fit perfect. After doing some online research, I ordered one. When I went to order it, I knew more about it than the dealership. I ended up getting one of the first ones delivered at my dealership. Its exactly what I wanted. From the exterior to the interior, I love it.

The LT 2.4 4 cylinder is perfect for us. Gas mileage is great. Very comfortable. Instruments are very easy to use. Incredible how much passenger room there is in the front and back seats. Plenty of cargo area.

I am new to driving an SUV but I love my Equinox. I test drove a TrailBlazer and the Equinox. While the Equinox is only slightly smaller than the TB, I felt like I had much more room in the Equinox. It took me a while to get used to my new turning radius (coming from a small convertible) but now its as easy as driving my Moms Impala. It looks good, too. I have received several comments about being mistaken for a Lexus!! I highly recommend the Equinox to anyone looking for an SUV that isnt a road hog!!

I just recently bought this vehicle so I dont have a lot of time with it. I bought it for my wife but have got to drive it a few times. When we picked it up from the dealership it was snowing, bad, but it got around great. I think that it has a very comfortable interior. So far I am very pleased with it.

  • Awesome Truck! - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

The Chevy Equinox is a true competitor against the RAV4 and Santa Fe. I test drove both, and the Equinox is the best one. My decision made up of all the nice features the Equinox offers at a lower price than both the Santa Fe and RAV4. Also, the styling is so much better than the other two. The Equinox has a pretty quiet engine, it can accelerate quickly and performs well. The gas mileage is good considering its size. The new and improved 2007 interior is better than the 06 one. The truck is the biggest, inside/out, compared to the Santa Fe and RAV4. Even the stock sound system is the best. Overall, the car is fun to drive and I am happy with my purchase. This truck rocks!

We just love the way the Equinox handles, the comfortable seats, and the smooth ride. Another plus in the Equinox is the space for a womans purse. Everyone who has ridden in the back seat cant get over all the leg room they have back there.

  • Great vehicle with great winter traction - 2013 Chevrolet Equinox

This is my second Equinox. My first one was a 2011 AWD 4cyc LT1 that couldnt stay out of the shop...Frustrated and almost out of warrenty with the 2011, my salesman put me in a new 2013 AWD LT1 and Ive owned it just a little over 3 yeaars now with 34k on it..Its only been back to the dealership once in these three years and it also gets 29mpg on the highway at 71 mph...Very nice vehicle.

  • From Jeep back to GM - 2016 Chevrolet Equinox

I just purchased the 2016 Equinox LT with the 2.4L engine and AWD (Patroit Blue Metallic) I also just came from a similar vehicle, which was a 2015 Jeep Cherokee Latitude 2.4L 4x4 (Eco Green). The Jeep was my second Jeep and my last! Chryslers dealer network is just not as accomodating, well-training, and educated as Chevys. My conclusion... "See ya later Jeep!". The Equinox is superb and I can honestly say it has the best legroom in its class, period! The interior is ergonomically sound with great technology, comfort and fit/finish. Let me criticize a lot of reviewers out there. Some are customers and others are Journalists...The complaints about the 2.4 are ludicrous. If you have ever driven a 4 cylinder engine and know what to expect/not expect from one, youll be fine with the performance of this vehicle. The 2.4 and 6 speed combo feels just as good as my 2.4 and 9 speed in the Cherokee. Trust me, you can pass people on the highway and you DONT need to floor it to do so. It has plenty of pep and way better gas mileage than the V6. Unless your towing something, just save yourself the money and get the 4. Dont listen to all these reviewers that want an SUV but also want their SUV to accelerate like a lamborghini. The Equinox 2.4 is just fine!!!! Also, if anyone is wondering I test drove the following before ridding myself of a problematic Jeep: - Rav4 - Escape - Edge - Murano - Rogue - Tuscon - Santa Fe - Sportage - Forester - CX9 - Equinox Going back to the legroom. The most important aspect of us choosing the Equinox, for anyone in a similar situation, was legroom. I am six ft. with long legs and am not comfortable in many small SUVs. We had it narrowed down to the Rogue, which we took for an overnight, and the Equinox. The Equinox had the best legroom in its class by far! I can scoot up to the wheel or have my legs fully extended (with boots on). Also BTW. My dad has a 2012 Equinox, My Mom had a 2010 and just bought a 2015 last years as well. Both have no problems with theirs. Highly satisfied with this vehicle and would recommend to anyone!

  • Love my Equinox - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

My only complaint about this vehicle is that the gas tank is very small. I feel like I have gotten to know the staff at my local gas station really well in the last few months. The fuel economy is above average, but not the tank size! I love every other aspect. It handles really well in all weather conditions, and is just fun to drive. It is also very easy to carry large items because the rear seats are easy to fold, not to mention the towing capacity.
