Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

Excellent SUV. Stylish compared to the rest, and fun to drive. Handling is excellent, and theres room for my 3 daughters and dog. Tows the bowrider boat with no hesitation.

This is a wonderful car since I had a few GM vehicles. But I had some experience about this brand new version; when I got this car first day back, I had a problem with the infotainment screen that was totally blank out, I have to take to the closer dealer for repair; second problem it was an engine stalling out on the road (within 400 miles in odometer), the dealer had to replace some engine part on it. After 2 times back to dealer, this car is running great till now.

I just bought this SUV a few days ago and I am wondering why I waited so long...I love my new Equinox...Chevy really out-did themselves this time! I couldnt ask for a better SUV...

My lighter HHR was sportier & handled better, but a lot noisier, so I appreciate the quiet luxury feel of this one. I would delete gaudy chrome, useless roof rack & lower the body to close the gap over the tires. Lower center of gravity always improves handling.

  • solid, could use a little more refinement - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox

tet drove a base model with 2.0 turbo. Chassis is good, nice ride and responsive handling, steering and brakes are responsive with good feel. Transmission was smooth, and the engine powerful, though a touch trashy when pushed hard.A little more road noise than I might have expected but not too objectionable. Biggest drawback was the seats, both driver and passenger front were too tight across the lower ribs. My wife and I are both in shape athletes, so we were surprised by how the side bolsters felt. Seat bottoms were fine for us, but larger people may find them intrusive. Salesman suggested that the leather seat models are a little less restrictive, had a quick seat in them and he might be right. I immediately noticed that the steering wheel profiling is a little different, so different seats are certainly plausible

  • Great Car - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

The car so far has been great. I love the exterior design. However, the interior is subpar, and the radio seems bland. Otherwise, the car runs great and looks even better.

Watch what the window sticker says when purchasing this vehicle. On the side where everything the vehicle has is listed it says: "Unit produced without XM satellite radio". The salesman and I skimmed the list of features and assumed it had satellite and low and behold it didnt. Funny it didnt list that it didnt have sunroof! Thankfully the dealership where I purchased my Equinox honored the satellite radio and had it installed and hard wired. Con for this vehile it cannot get satellite through the radio. Something about the electrical system. Besides that.. I love this car.

  • I would recommend - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Good syle, great ride. I have the best package (1SE), but the interior still seems a little cheap for 27,000 dollars. I guess now days if you want nice, it will cost you 40,000+.

  • Two thumbs waaay UP!!! - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

This compact SUV is simply amazing. It rides more like a car than a SUV, and the fuel economy is actually quite good- much more akin to a sedan. The interior is well planned, and the rear seats and storage area are the best Ive seen from any make (Honda, Toyota, Ford were cross-shopped). This is a great vehicle for families , or for those that love hauling friends around (like me).
