Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • 512 miles so far no problems - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

We bought a gold LT because it had the side air bags. We were all set to buy a TrailBlazer but were put off by the poor crash test results. We have only put a few miles on it but are very impressed with the comfort and features of the car. The ride quality is very good and the front and rear seat room is excellent for a vehicle of this size. The engine is smooth with plenty of power and we are getting about 20 mpg in mixed driving. We also liked the new RAV4 but the significant price difference pushed us to the Chevrolet. The fit and finish are very good. I recommend that anyone considering this type of car definitely consider the Chevrolet with an open mind.

To start off my family is an American car family. A family member works for GM, and we drive majoritively that. My wife and I nearly bought a Saturn Vue when they introduced their new body style, but I am thrilled that we held out. We knew since mid 2009, once the 2010 Equinox was released, that it was what we wanted. We searched forever and finally in Feb 2010 we found the perfect one. We got the 4cyl 182hp FWD LT2, classed up to basically an LTZ. Black with chrome package. My wife and I are in love with this car.Im 65 and there is more room than any other car ive owned. No problems at all at 1200 miles. if you are considering to buy, you will not be disappointed.

After many comparison tests the Equinox was the best suited for our needs. It has the most legroom..front and back, especially the back with the sliding rear seat, an option not seen on other mid SUVs. The comfort of the driver and especially the passanger in front is exceptional. Weve had previous minivans and the passenger really got the short end of legroom and comfort. Weve had many praises on the styling and overall look of this vehicle. This is the first Chevrolet weve owned and its turned out to be a winner. By the way the AWD feature is wonderfull. Ive used it in driving snow on the highway and it does not slip at all.

We put a lot of miles on this car, it has been a real work horse for the family. It has over 75K miles on it to date and it has performed flawlessly. I would recommend it to anyone in the market for a midsized SUV. One of the best cars I have ever owned and a great value.

  • Awesome SUV!! - 2011 Chevrolet Equinox

I purchased my Equinox about two months ago and I love every minute inside of it! The seats are so plush and it rides extremely smooth. I was also interested in the Nissan Rogue initially but the amenities you get in the Equinox for basically the same price of the Rogue, is no comparison. Fuel economy is awesome. The exterior design is so smooth....loving it!

  • I was schocked! - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

After driving a large SUV, I was very impressed with the handling of this much smaller one. I drive a lot of rough, country roads, and the handling around potholes and gravel roads was impressive, as well as the comfort on the interstate. I was shocked with the quality of the interior, and the attractive look of the exterior. What a great little suv for a reasonable price. I test drove several other small suvs, and this one outranked them all by a long shot.

  • A Car for the AGES - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Had to order the car; finally arrived after 8 weeks. The wait was worth it. The 4 cyl. has more then enough pep; no problems with merging into hi-speed traffic. Comfortable front seats; all controls are easy enough to reach; great sound system. The LTZ model has all I wanted in the basic pkg except for the Navigation system which I got. Luv it! Great ride although Ive only got 600 miles on it and have yet to take a "trip" in it.

I love the drive and feel of this car. Compared it with others such as the RAV4,CRV etc and you cant beat the value. It is not quite as refined as the CRV on the inside, but boy does it out perform it.
