Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • Outstanding A+ - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I traded in my 2002 Jeep Liberty Renegade for the Equinox. I saw the Equinox at the car show in Philly and I absolutely fell in love with it. The ride is smooth especially for me, who recently had back surgery. My kids love the leg room. Its an awesome car & stylish looking.

Styling is really great as is the ride. Vehicle was replacement for Chevy Tracker, but it really can also be a great replacement for the old Blazer. If you want to save a couple gallons, it could also be an alternative to the Trailblazer/Envoy. Vehicle looks and performs better than all other vehicles we looked at, Asian and American, and it was roomiest in group.

and I trade in a 2003 car I got only two before test driving the Equinox, we were had no intention of buying a new car until we test drove the Equinox, it is great and we enjoy every minute that we are in it, the price was great too.

After Buying a first year vehicle i was skeptical about it, but once i got behind the wheel it drive those thoughts out the window. The car felt tight and smooth, and interior room was very comfortable. Definately happy with this purchase.

  • 1800 miles or less - 2018 Chevrolet Equinox
    By -

I have a 2018 Equinox with 1800 miles on it. The celanoid box that controls the transmission is having issues. I was told that this is becoming a common problem. The vehicle with groan and will not shift. The next problem is that they do not make replacement parts for this yet! So my vehicle is sitting at the dealership until it can be fixed!!! They did give me a loaner (another Equinox).

  • Excellent Car - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

The ride is very smooth. It is a real SUV, not like some car based crossovers. Engine is just right, fast acceleration. The interior is improved a lot comparing to previous Equinox.

  • LOVE IT, LOVE IT, LOVE IT!!! - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

I only bought my Equinox two days ago and couldnt wait to write a review. This SUV is amazing! I researched this auto for months. I also looked at the Kia Sorento, Hundai Santa Fe, and the Ford Escape. The look of the Nox is beautiful. The inside is amazing. Beautiful details, nice lighting and I have more than enough pep to get on the road at a reasonable speed. I will be driving about 700 miles during the Christmas holidays and cant wait to see what the mileage is like. The mileage is one of the main reasons for the purchase. I have 150 miles on the SUV and still have three quarters of a tank of fuel left! This is a dream auto and Chevy did an outstanding job! Easy on the eyes

  • Beware - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I like the looks, the drive, and there is plenty of interior room. There is too much road noise. The AC fan is too loud. The headrests are too large, and it is difficult to see when backing up, espically in a parking lot. The interior is large and has plenty of leg room in the back seat. We traded a 2000 Durango for the Equniox, and the Nox has more passenger room than the Durango. It drives very nicely on the highway. Here is why my next vehicle will not be a Chevrolet, the cloth seats are terrible. Water leaves a stain that cant be removed. When I tried to remove the water stain with fabric products that I used in the past, the only thing that happened was the stain got bigger.

  • Nice Ride, definitely buy! - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

Really spacious and comfortable. Engine has plenty of power and does decent on gas mileage. I enjoy driving it, very smooth and handles very well. I would recommend it over the Rav 4 or the Ford Escape. It has more power and is a much better ride. One bad note: the transmitter for the doorlocks went out the first week we had it.
