Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

This is a great vehicle and its about time more SUVs are passing the 30+ MPG mark. The 2010 Equinox drives very smooth and deftly handles Baltimores toughest pot holes and curves, it also accelerates quickly and seamlessly through its 6-speed transmission regardless of having a 4 cylinder engine even with econo mode engaged, and the Equinox keeps road noise where it belongs...Outside Very easy, comfortable and fun to drive. My wife is already saving more than 2 1/2 times her weekly fuel costs from when she owned a 2000 Ford Explorer Sport. This vehicle also comes standard 6 airbags, adjustable back seats, has outstanding crash and braking scores and Electronic Traction/stability controls

Ive been driving this vehicle for about a month now and am still excited to get into it every time. Its just a nice overall vehicle. I does have quite a large blind spot but the camera makes up for that. So far Im getting about 19mpg overall on my drive to work mostly state roads. Seats are firm but fit well. Plenty of available seat positioning for both me and my wife. This car is quiet and rides nice if a little firm. A lot more cargo space than the specs would leave you to think, especially with the rear seat forward.

This is my first new vehicle purchase that was not a car. At first the around town gas mileage was suprisingly low compared to my 01 Olds considering they have the same size motor, but after some highway trips I found the mileage comparative. It is stylish and comfortable, easy access for all. I love this vehicle and would highly recomend!

My husband and I really enjoy the suv. The only complaint that we had was the headrest and the inside seats seemed to be made cheaply.

  • Nice ride. - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

I like the Chevy Equinox. We looked for a croosover for a few months. We came close to purchasing a Jeep Compass but a friend who had purchased a 2006 Equinox turned me on to the idea of purchasing one. I am glad we got the Equinox since it sits 4 inches higher than a Compass. If you are looking for an American made crossover then this is one to get. It has a smooth ride with lots of power. I recommend the LT over the LS as GM put a lot of plastic into the interior. But plastic is easy to clean and cheap to replace.

What a fantastic car! I have had mine for 2 weeks and love it!! got it on incentives and black Friday deals $26K out the door with Gap protection. I dont understand the grips with acceleration its definitely quicker than my 07 V6 Explorer granted its bigger and heavier it also has a much larger 4L engine. Android Auto is an Amazing feature that makes life on the road easy and fun. It feels big but drives small the maneuverability is fantastic. I would recommend an Equinox to anyone with a small family fits 3 car seats perfectly. Grade A+

  • Great SUV! - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox is a fun, fuel efficient SUV. Not only does it look great, it handles well in bad weather and it has a nice weight to it. The power window switches are in the center console, which would be the only design I would change. Overall, it is a great value and I would recommend it to anyone purchasing an SUV for the first time.

Bought this 2007 as an extra car. I am really pleased with the purchase. This Chevrolet is well engineered and very quiet and comfortable. The engine torque is down low, which makes city driving enjoyable. Good value for the money in my opinion.

We just bought our Equinox a day before going on vacation. We put over 3000 miles in 12 days. Drove from Houston Tx to Michigan then to Niagra Falls and then down thru Penn, Tenn, Vir, W. Vir, Miss, Al, LA and back to Texas. MPG was great! Averaged at 26mpg. Ride was not a Cadillac but comfortable. All in all this is a great SUV.
