Model Overview:

Part of a growing segment of plus-sized small crossover SUVs, the Chevrolet Equinox splits the difference between compact and midsize utility vehicles and offers roomy accommodations in a five-passenger layout. Like other vehicles in its class, the Equinox emphasizes style, amenities and day-to-day practicality over more traditional SUV attributes. In short, the Chevy Equinox is a fine choice for commuting to work or transporting pets, but it's not suited for towing, or anything more rugged than a gravel road.

Although the Equinox has always had a roomy interior and an easy-driving nature, the plain styling and low-quality interior materials in earlier models are none too impressive by today's standards. Later versions of this Chevrolet crossover have made big strides in quality and are available with more desirable features and engine choices.

  • Great value with Classy Aggressive Looks - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

The Equinox is a once in a decade auto- a vehicle that is an incredible value, great performer within its class, but yet likely to be largely overlooked by the purchasing public. The Equinox does not really excel in any one area (except maybe styling-see below), but it is exceptional enough in every single area to make it an extremely enjoyable SUV to own. Combine that with incredible value (my loaded LT FWD was $22,500 off the lot) and you cannot lose.

THIS SUV GETS A 10! I LOVE THE SOUND SYSTEM,LEG ROOM,CARGO SPACE, AND STYLING....I GET SO MANY COMMENTS FROM PEOPLE ON HOW NICE LOOKING THIS VEHICLE IS. I THINK IT VERY MUCH COMPARES TO THE MORE EXPENSIVE LEXUS RX330 :-)CHECK OUT THE BACK VIEW.....YOULL SEE.I ADORE THIS SUV!

  • NOX on WOOD - 2010 Chevrolet Equinox

Recent purchase and no regrets. Lots of leg room for tall drivers, center console is low, did not dig into my leg like ravr4 and crv. Leather interior well crafted with tasteful trim stitching and seats are fabulous design. 4cyl has impressive pull for a car this size. Took it on an 800mile ride, all types of roads...flawless! Wish it had GPS but my Garmin does the trick. Panasonic sound with XM is awesome. Got 30mpg even with AWD and still improving with break in. GM did it right this time!

  • Excellent Value and Fun to Drive - 2007 Chevrolet Equinox

I have been driving for 40 years and had about as many cars and trucks in that time with this being my first SUV. The closest thing I owned previous was a Chevy van with the same engine which is one reason I knew I would like it. The engine is powerful yet delivers great mileage for a vehicle of this size. Running it hard around a major city shows close to 19 MPG with highway running 70-75 mph 24 MPG. Thanks to the 5 Speed. The ride is what I really enjoy, smooth, real smooth and quiet. I bought it for the Pittsburgh winters and long commute I make into the snow belt north of here plus the space to carry my wifes wheelchair with room left for other passengers which it does with ease.

  • Grasping onto optimism - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

Vehicle has been in my position for 3.5 weeks now and due to arising problems, the vehicle has been in for service on 5 separate occassions. (A) The service engine light has come on 3x (B) A major component that operates the AC had to be replaced (C) The strut mount bushings now need replacing......after 700 miles. Fortunately I purchased an extended warranty. The dealership has extended excellent service in dealing with each instance. Being a first year vehicle, I realize that you will have "bugs" to work through, however I guess I was spoiled by the realiability of my Trailblazer. Aside from the issues I have experienced, the vehicle is great.

  • EQUINOX OFFERS ECONOMY WITH PERFORMANCE - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I have thoroughly enjoyed my Chevrolet Equinox that I purchased from Mission Chevrolet in El Paso, TX. Not only was the dealership ex[erience a fantastic one, but I have found that the Equinox is by far the best bang for my buck. I am a large man that requires a lot of space. However, with gas prices in the $2.25 range, I just cannot justify buying a large truck or SUV. The Equinox has given me the size, comfort and utility I desire combined with the economy that I feel I need. My Equinox is surprisingly agile and gets me into and out of Interstate traffic with ease. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for "that something special."

Little interior things wrong--screws and pins fall out. Havent had it long enough to tell anything else.

  • Equinox heaven - 2005 Chevrolet Equinox

I was interested in the Equinox since last year. I finally bought one. Im extemely satisfied so far. The only problem Ive encountered is backing up in the dark. Its very difficult to see out the rear. I backed into another vehicle the second day I had the Equinox because of poor visibility. Other than that, Im pleased.

  • Not cracked up - 2006 Chevrolet Equinox

Seats are hard and uncomfortable. 6 point seat adjustment is not enough. Rides fair and has good pickup, but not as nice as a Saturn VUE or Buick model. Steering is slow to react, but smooth. Lots of wind noise. I dont like this car. I leased it for two years and will be glad when it goes back.
