  • First car for teenagers....Great Choice! - 1995 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

I bought a 95 Corsica with 71K miles for my sons first car. Back seat is not too comfortable but overall ride is smooth. The only problem we have had is with the fuel injectors. Everything else has a 10 star rating. Gets 30-32 miles per gallon. Cant beat that with gas at 3.50 a gallon. It now has 110,000 miles and runs great. No peeling of paint as I see others have had, no electrical problems. I like the idea of it being a medium size vehicle for my sons first vehicle. Great purchase on our part. I would recommened this to any parent for a teenagers first vehicle!

  • ol reliable - 1990 Chevrolet Corsica

Got her in 1998 with 23000 miles and shes lasted me. I have run into the moisture vs fuses problem but it was easily fixed, and the paint is peeling- her tops rusty. She still likes to go, and her brakes are soft. Not pretty anymore but will probably run with tune-ups for 50,000 more miles.

  • Still Surprising Me After Six Years! - 1991 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

I cant say enough about this car. I bought it from a co-worker on whim for $300 because it needed a fuel pump. Shortly after we bought it we had to put in a water pump and an alternator. I was beginning to wonder what I was beginning to get into. That was six years and 50,000 miles ago and the car hasnt cost me a dime other than regular maintenance since! The V-6 has lots of power. The seats are comfortable and the drivers seat is roomy for my 64" frame. The A/C is cold and the heater is hot. The trunk is huge. I am a Realtor and I drive this car every day. I can fit my big signs in the trunk. The car always starts. I get 21 MPG in town and 29 on the highway at 75 MPH.

  • Solid Transportation (but also generic) - 1995 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

Overall, a solid car. Got the car at 95k miles, now at 150k. Great fuel mileage (~30MPG). Big repairs: alternator, heater coil. Then the normal stuff--brakes, tires, oil changes. All in all, a very solid car. Tends to start hard in the rain (probably needs plugs and wires), but it gets from A to B with no major hassles. Not a big fan of the interior--the round knobs on the sides of the dash are okay, but power window controls are mounted on the front of the center console! Beware the high beam switch my turn signal lever snapped off trying to get the switch to work. Paint is peeling, and all four wheels have rusted out now, meaning a trip to the junk yard for "new" rims.

  • Starts Every Time - 1991 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

Ive owned my Corsica for 16 months and am very happy with this car. Dont neglect the routine maintenance, (belts, hoses, brakes, tires and battery) and always keep your oil and filter changed at the right intervals and it should provide years of reliablity. Keep all other fluids at proper levels, too. Other than a waterpump and starter (those were a little expensive to replace) failing, no major problems. Things Ive replaced: serpentine belt, battery, 1 heater hose, 1 lower radiator hose, fresh oil and filter changes, of course. I plan on replacing the spark plug wires- slight stumble accelerating. Thatll fix it for sure. This is a great run-around car for shopping and chores.

  • Reliable Chevy Just Keeps On Running... - 1991 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

Ive owned this great car almost a year and a half now (November this year) and the only major problem was a leaking waterpump and a bad starter. Thats it! Other than routine maintenance such as hoses, belts, brakes, tires, etc., as long as you keep up with things, no problems should occur. Ive been very lucky. This car has been exceptional. The gas mileage is excellent, the plush, comfy seats are wonderful for my low back pain and sciatica! The Goodyear tires will last a very long time, but I do need a tire rotation- fronts to back, backs in front. I highly recommend this great, reputable, strong-running car to anyone looking for inexpensive transportation who is on a budget.

  • Paint is like SNOW there it gos.... - 1996 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

My car ran ok at first then problems came out of nowhere it runs bbad and the paint just keeps flying off driving down the freeway or at a car wash so embarssing might as well be snowing. Sometimes it wont even go over 25 MPH. I have two kids and its a shame so much is going worng and no money to fix it. The PW windows wont go down or if they go down you cant get them up. It lugs through town I want a new car and why such abad paint job on 96s?? Yet we get from point a to point b so cant complain to much. I would never by another Chevy though hearing bad storys on there paint!! AMW

  • Turned out to be a great deal - 1996 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

We bought this car in 1997 with 29K on it...it sat in outside storage for 6 of the years weve owned it, but it worked great every time we pulled it out and drove it. Have replaced the brakes 2 times, the altenator, had some work done with the fuel injector and fixed a manifold gasket leak. We figure it will cost us $1000/year to keep it, and we are fine with that. I now drive it 52 miles a day on twisty, often snowy roads, and it handles well with the front wheel drive. We never expected to have it last 10 years and still be going pretty well. We ar soon to buy a 4WD SUV, but will keep this one to drive when the roads are good, because it is reliable, solid, and still gets 20+ mpg.

  • Durable, Strong-Running Chevy - 1991 Chevrolet Corsica
    By -

Ive owned my Chevy for almost a year and a half and have had no major problems. The only issue I really had was replacement of water pump and starter. They were a little expensive to replace-but worth it. I keep my oil and filter changed every 3 mos/3,000 miles and besides new front brakes, thats really all it needs. Just keep up with the regular routine maintenance (belts, hoses, tires and brakes) and itll run forever! Ive replaced battery, waterpump, starter, serpentine belt and a rear wheel cylinder. I couldnt be happier with my car. Gas mileage is excellent around town and on the highway. For a 4 cylinder (2.2), its got plenty of power! I highly recommend this car!!

  • My Little Chevy - 1993 Chevrolet Corsica

A good looking faily comfortable car. Utterly reliable after sorting it out i.e. Head gasket leak (2.2 4 cyl engine.) Ive been driving American cars for 40 years and this is the most economical at 35 mpg on runs.
