Why would they rate it so poorly?... - 1992 Chevrolet Corsica
By Vira - February 13 - 2:00 amSince the above consumers say they were satisfied with the car, why would they not provide a better rating of the vehicle? I bought mine in 97 with 152,000 km for CAD$ 5,900. It was an awesome deal. It now has almost 300,000 km and it goes good. There is hardly any spot of rust. I have done the rustproof every year and have kept it outside for the last three years. After I reach the 300,000 km I might get a Sunfire. Although I am European I like the lightness of American domestic vehicles - actually European GM has its equivalents too (Opel etc). You feel light with such cars - as opposed to a MB or a BMW, dont you? -)

Repair Nightmare - 1996 Chevrolet Corsica
By van - February 1 - 2:00 amAlthough the basic engine block seems well built, weve had to replace/rebuild nearly all external components ie: trans, alternator, power steering pump, rack-in-pinion seeering, complete brake system and complete cooling system overhaul. Weve paid as much to keep it running as we paid for it, and its only 7 years old.

Not Bad for Two Grand - 1995 Chevrolet Corsica
By BDC - January 12 - 2:00 amIn 2000 I bought this as a sales car with 78,000 on it, now has 113,000 miles on it. Have only had to do front brakes, and replace battery. Some Folks on here have had problems with alternators, and I think mine is going as I notice the headlights flucuate as I drive on the highway. Engine is the 4 banger and is VERY DOGGIE with the A/C on. Look for the V-6 Engine. I get 24- 28 MPG. The A/C & Heater works great. Burns less than a 1/4 qrt. of oil between 4,500 Mi.changes. Paint was pelling a little when I got it, now the hood is peeling quite a bit. The Color is WHITE. AVOID HIGH PRESSURE CAR WASHERS OR LOSE WHATS LEFT!!!! Great little car for the $.

Unprecedented Reliability - 1991 Chevrolet Corsica
By Brian Mills - January 6 - 2:00 amI bought this car from an elderly lady during college with 30,000 miles. Needless to say, it lasted through college and 5 years later @ 140,000 miles, its still going strong. GREAT ENGINE, bad exterior paint problems. Its Lt. Blue paint color chips like crazy, but the engine more than made up for it. Great Reliability!

Good beginner car - 1996 Chevrolet Corsica
By J. G. - December 17 - 2:00 am---County assigned vehicle-- I make several business contacts daily and fall victim to comments that describe the car as "White trash" and/or "Gheto". Secondly, after reading several safety reviews (NHTSA and NCAP to name a few) was surprised at how unsafe the vehicle is. According to reports, if your in a frontal crash the front passenger has a great likelyhood of sustaining severe head injury. Third, the handling on the car sucks!!!! The suspension is very weak, causing alot of weight transfer. The interior is cramped and appears cheap(And no Im not fat).

High relative value - 1995 Chevrolet Corsica
By kjantz - December 14 - 2:00 amWe bought this car with 140000 km. already on it. In nearly four years we have put on 60,000 km, spark plugs and wires and two alternators.I then installed a reflector shield between the exhaust manifold and the alternator with no further problems.

96 Corsica! - 1996 Chevrolet Corsica
By TimK - October 25 - 2:00 amI bought my Corsica with around 40k mileage on it. It is a very reliable car. Only minor repairs have been made, but the car will last quite a while at this pace. The only downers of the car that come to my mind is the leg room in the rear, and more of a noisier 4 cyl engine.
