Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Blue Collar Workers Beware - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By anttest - October 4 - 2:00 amSupposedly a work truck, front tires destroyed due to front end"misalignment" due to vehicle loading (tool box and ladder racks weighing less than 300 lbs.) Was advised by service department to purchase new set of "truck" tires since the ones that came with the truck were passenger tires.

luv my truck - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By artillaryseargent - September 30 - 2:00 amI have a lot of fun w/ my Colorado. I take offroading pretty much every weekend. I have had a couple of problems w/ it, like some electrical issues with the ignition and starter, but that is to be expected with a new style vehicle. I am confident that Chevy will work the bugs out of it, and it will be one of the best Mid-sized trucks on the market. The biggest issue that I have is the lack of accessories available for it. I want a lift-kit, so the thing can have a little more ground clearance. So if you chevy manufacturers are listening, get one on the market, quick. Again, overall, I love my truck.

I LOVE THIS TRUCK! - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By JEFF DAVIS - September 29 - 2:00 amLOOKS & FEELS LIKE A FULL SIZE TRUCK. GREAT STYLING. SPACIOUS INTERIOR WITH VERY COMFORTABLE SEATS. GREAT BRAKES. AWSOME CD SOUND, RACK & PINION STEERING. 5SPEED TRANNY SHIFTS LIKE A SPORTS CAR. I-4 ENG IS QUITE POWERFUL (175HP). FANTASTIC GAS MILEAGE (I"M GETTING BETWEEN 26 & 27 MPG). I RECENTLY HAULED 10 SHEETS OF PLYWOOD ACROSS THE STATE & FOUND THE TAILGATE 55 DEGREE SELECTION WORKS QUITE WELL. YOU CAN PLACE FULL SHEETS OF PLYWOOD DOWN FLAT INSIDE OF BED.

4,000 miles - 5 times in shop - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By Steve Beavers - September 29 - 2:00 amToday I get pulled over for no brake lights, I dont know now if they ever worked? Very poor fit and finish, doors dont close properly, just all around cheap material and construction. I will never buy a GM product again, nor let a family member.

Great trailer puller - 2004 Chevrolet Colorado
By MilCop - September 20 - 10:00 amI have moved 2 times already and have hooked up to a 16 flatbed car transport hauler and moved multiple loads of furniture. even though this load squatted the rear axle letting you know the trailer was on the back once I placed it in 3rd gear it pulled this load quite well considering the load being pulled and still I got a very respectable fuel economy of 14mpg. I have got as hiogh on one trip of 31mpg hwy but always turn in numbers of 25 to 26mpg. the worst was pulling the trailer with a load of 7000lbs on the trailer of 14mpg. Im sold this is a great truck.

The Best Mid Size Truck On The Market - 2015 Chevrolet Colorado
By SM - September 18 - 12:39 amThe LT model with the premium interior/exterior and safety packages give this truck the feel of an upscale SUV. Additionally, the gas mileage of the 2.5L engine and 6 speed automatic transmission is great ( routinely 27.5 to 30 mpg highway) for the size of this truck.

Neat Truck - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Danny - August 30 - 6:46 amI bought the Xtreme package, it really gets a lot of looks. The truck has not had any real problems yet, and I now have 6500 miles on it. There is a ringing noise when the A/C is on. The dealer says the entire dash has to be removed to fix the noise. I really do not want the dash taken out, I am afraid the dash will rattle. The interior materials are very cheap. The truck is fun to drive. My intial MPG was almost 25 on the highway, but mileage has now dropped to about 20 MPG.
