Overview & Reviews
The Chevrolet Colorado is Chevy's entry in the highly competitive compact truck segment. Like its rivals, the Colorado is closer to midsize than truly compact. Accordingly, it offers a reasonable amount of hauling capability without the added cost and bulk of a full-size pickup. As is customary in this segment, Chevrolet offers extended-cab and four-door crew-cab layouts, multiple bed lengths and available off-road preparation.
Older versions of the Chevy Colorado could be worth a look if you need a basic work truck, but their four- and five-cylinder engines are weak for this class (though you may find a few examples with a robust optional V8 engine). Colorados from 2015 and later are dramatically better, with competitive powertrains, up-to-date technology features and a spacious interior.

Good little truck - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By martymcfly - September 15 - 9:23 pmI really think GM could have kept the 2.2 instead of experimenting with more engines. The 2.2 was great on fuel and performance. Yeah I know you say this new engine has more power but correct me if Im wrong, dont but a small truck to haul with buy a half ton or more. Yeah i know I drive semis. I really enjoy the truck all the time though fun little deal

WOW - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Renorad - September 11 - 10:00 amI purchased my Colorado in July of 2004 and I have yet to get less than 20 miles per Gallon. The transmission is smooth and there is plenty of power. I live in the mountains and have no problems climbing the hills. I recommend this truck to anyone looking for a midsize pickup. p.s. to all those dads....the car seat fits easily in the back!

I5 Colorado - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Jim - September 2 - 4:32 pmI bought the vehicle new and have had it 2.5 years. In that time an axle seal has failed twice, the a/c fan motor once and now it has the drivers window, door lock and fob problem. After a new BCM, fuse block and a $400 bill it still doesnt work. Seven times now Ive fixed the problem by taking the door module out, spraying the contacts, put it together and all works fine - for a day or two. This is an ongoing problem with the Colorado that Chevy wont recognize. Also the thing sounds at 62000 miles like what my old Explorer did at 120K miles.

My Colorado 4cyl - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By hta - August 19 - 4:33 pmI drove an 96 s10 for 10 years almost 300,000 miles it was a better truck. The Colorado is a litle bigger. Less gas mileage. No way it gets 27-35 highway. There is no armrest What engineer builds a 5 speed truck with no armrest? 2 Cheap General tires went at 15000 miles? I got the truck at 13500 +ttl. Its efficient but I dont know as much as my S10. The body panels are made really thin and theres not much cab space. It is a slow slug. It only moves when the pedal is to the floor hence the gas mileage

Great Truck - 2006 Chevrolet Colorado
By tkaxman - August 16 - 7:04 amVery satisfied. Have had the truck for 34,000 mi. with little to no problems. Solid feel while maintaining decent comfort. Gas mileage is a little weak at 19 combined, but the overall driving experience is excellent. Good acceleration and braking, and overall fun to drive. A little jumpy on rough roads, but thats not uncommon with 4 wheel drives. Wish the bed was longer.

2005 Chevy Colorado, Oh No! - 2005 Chevrolet Colorado
By Kevin - August 7 - 1:40 pmI purchased a brand new 2005 Chevy Colorado during the employee pricing. I should have walked across the street to the Toyota dealership. My truck has been in the shop over 20 times for AC, CD player, radio not working, tire balance, cruise control, AC fan only working on speed 4, broken seat handle, leaking rain water in the cab. The truck looks great and that is about it. I cant believe one vehicle can have so many problems. Never again! Sorry Chevy!

Colorado - 2007 Chevrolet Colorado
By crack007 - July 26 - 12:16 amI have 2500 miles on the truck. Taken two trips totaling 800 miles getting about 25 mpg on highway and 18-20 normal driving. Pulls 3000 pound boat ok. Seems kind of small from the Z71 ext cab I bought new in 04 but traded for gas mileage and it is doing better than the 14-15 the Z got. If getting the 4cyl, go with the 5 speed if you plan to do any pulling. It will run highway speed with a load in 4th without much trouble but 5th is useless with a trailer. As far as driving empty, it has plenty of power, havent had to take it past 5000 rpm yet when pulling or passing. Mine has the 3.73 gear ratio I think this is the best ratio as it would be turning a lot or rpms in 4th with the 4.10.

Colorado - 2016 Chevrolet Colorado
By Janice Schauer - July 25 - 3:08 amDisappointed that it was not as nice as silverado. Wanted leather seats. 99% had cloth seats.
