Overview & Reviews
The Cobalt is a replacement for the aged Cavalier and like its predecessor it's available in both coupe and sedan body styles.
- Smooth ride and sporty handling, torquey four-cylinder engine, premium content for basic-car price.
- A few cheap plastic interior parts, odd exterior styling details.

FUN, FUN, FUN.....needs a tiny tweak. - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By mdillman - February 27 - 5:03 pmOverall I love this car - I won the car in a contest and decided before I took delivery the sport coupe was not for me. I test drove 10 cars at least and still could not find anything I liked better than this sporty coupe. Fast, quiet and smooth. Mileage averages 28-30 and the dashboard readout is a nice option. This would be a great car for my teenager, but I dont want to turn it loose!

Good car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Kelly84 - February 22 - 9:03 pmI leased my Cobalt in 2005 and enjoyed having the car. I loved the gas mileage and turning radius that it had. I didnt like that the paint chipped within 2 weeks around the stereo. The door pull handle in the car broke off and I was cut badly many times.

two ton paperweight - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Leah - February 7 - 1:17 pmi previously had a 97 grand am and i think that ran better than the cobalt sometimes, considering it had over 180,000 miles on it. i just dont get how you all get like 45 miles a gallon geeez thats unreal well i only get 21.1 right now. its around 25 in the summertime. well the only problems ive brought to a shop were the alignment and tire balance. the tires that come with it are no good and had constnat slow leaks. it also has a problem with the radio oncce in a while it works when it wants to. i dont like how it didnt come with floormats either. anyways ive got in 3 accidents since getting this car and it still runs decently.

Great car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By brnwrng - February 2 - 9:55 amI replaced my 05 Cavalier for an 05 Cobalt after the Cavalier was wrecked in a car accident. The Cobalt is everything the Cavalier was and more. It has great fuel mileage and has more power. The interior is a great upgrade from the Cavalier.

Trustworthy - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By John - January 20 - 6:23 amThis has been one my better vehicles ever. Except for a factory replacement of the fuel level sending unit a few days after purchase, (it wasnt gauging correctly), Ive had no problems. My wife uses it for a 50 mile daily commute and it keeps on going. It still runs like brand new and drives as straight as new, hasnt needed an alignment as of yet.

My Red Cobalt - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By RedCobaltLS - January 19 - 4:16 amIts a good car no problems yet? So far Ive got 2800+ miles on it. I hope the next 5 yrs dont bring me pain..Knock on wood. But Im finding out how hard it was to replace the headlight bulb. I wanted brighter lights and had to take off the whole headlight to gain access to the bulb. But other then that its a good car.

The Blue Cobalt - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Jason H. - December 17 - 7:06 amHave had the Cobalt since the beginning of August. Great car with some exceptions. I have had some major/minor glitches. My back window shattered out of no where, my sunroof switch cover fell off and has not been replaced yet, my car is rattling, and my emergency break light seems to come on at random when driving.

So far so good... - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Mollie - November 16 - 10:03 pmIm quite impressed with the performance of my little Chevy Cobalt. My husband & myself are both over 6 feet tall & we have comfortable leg room. I have the LS sport, but my display gauges arent white, not sure how it happened

Chevy Cobalts. Good Gas Mileage. Reliable - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Mike - November 2 - 11:16 amI own a 2005 Chevy Cobalt LT 4 Door sedan, and I must say that this car has been extremely reliable. I average about 800 - 1000 miles a week driving on this car for work, and it has held up well. It currently has 166,000 miles on it and no major work needed. I dont care what people say about Chevy and GM, they do make wonderful cars. We also own a 2001 Malibu with 232,000 miles on it. An 2006 Equinox with only 19,000 miles on it and a new 2009 Cadillac CTS. All have required only minor work and maintenance done to them. If you keep up with the maintenance they will be reliable cars. We have twins that will be driving soon, and they will be getting the ever reliable Malibu and Cobalt

Its a gamble - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Gene - October 22 - 7:49 amBased on the other reviews its clear that if you get a sound Cobalt its a good purchase. The car my wife and I bought was dangerous right off the bat. Aprox. 2 weeks after purchase while going 40-45 mph the car died. A wiring harness had to be replaced. Since then its been back to the dealership for numerous repairs.
