Overview & Reviews
The Cobalt is a replacement for the aged Cavalier and like its predecessor it's available in both coupe and sedan body styles.
- Smooth ride and sporty handling, torquey four-cylinder engine, premium content for basic-car price.
- A few cheap plastic interior parts, odd exterior styling details.

Fun little car - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By jane - October 25 - 9:06 amGot this car a while ago with 5,000 miles on it. Its been good so far, has great fuel economy and is really fun to drive, especially in the city. Its great to park! The seats are a little stiff after 4 or 5 hours, and the side mirrors are a little smaller than Id like, but other than that I really like the look and feel.

SS - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Alberto - August 27 - 9:30 amGreat car. Fun to drive. Comfy and accomodating interior. The exterior is sporty, yet livable. Ergonomics are great, nothing is out of reach. The shifter fits perfectly in your hand and requires only short throws. Effortless clutch activation and great brakes! No need to rev to the red line for power, the supercharger has almost no lag and kicks in low in the rpm range for great torque at low rpms. Shifter sometimes feels a bit spongy and hesitant, but overall, a great car, worthy of its SS insignia. Only 91 or above octane fuel on this car, anything less is a waste. 93 octane fuels work a miracle on this little four-banger. Not faster than the SRT-4 but certainly much more civilized and refined.

Cobalt is an awesome car! - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Jim - July 18 - 3:00 amI love my Cobalt. I never thought that I would like a smaller car, but it has much more leg room and head room than I expected. It also has electric steering which is the best steering I have ever driven with. It handles very nice and is definetly much nicer than the outdated Cavalier.

I love this car! - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Rick - July 8 - 2:26 amI bought my 2005 Cobalt ls in August as a "used car" with 1600 miles on it. It was a lease vehicle and i think I got a steal on it. brand new car (I consider 1600 miles just broken in for me), 3 year warranty, great fuel economy (hour and 20 minute drive to work every morning), and i got it all for 12,800! power windows, locks, cruise, tilt, and alloy wheels! never thought id get a deal like this. and the car has been very reliable, no problems with it, Ive put 5000 miles on since I got it. Its also EXTREMELY fun to drive!

Good bang for your dollar - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Styling - May 28 - 11:20 amI have been looking to buy a car for about 6 months and was getting set to buy a Mazda3. But then I saw the Cobalt and I fell in love with it. I found the Cobalt and the Mazda3 were pretty much the same car but with the Cobalt ranging anywhere from $3,000 to $6,000 cheaper..Ill take that any day of the week. It has nice pick up and easy handling. The style is very nice and pleasing to look act.

Chevy Tech./Owner point of view - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By NJBLUESS - May 6 - 10:36 pmVery suprised by the cars capabilaties from the first test drive. Power is consistant (no dead spots/lag), but really loves rpms in the 4k+ range. Handling, this car will corner with confidence, there is very little understeer,if any. Response is crisp and accurate to quick manuavers. The G85/performance package is a must for the spirited driver. The LSD pulles the car through corners under accelleration. The Racero seats are snug fitting and keep you in position in turns,so larger people have complained of discomfort.I have driven all the styles of Cobalts and can say there is no comparison to the SS/SC w/G85. For reliability, Ive seen very few problems at my shop. Nothing unusual.

Stars Cobalt Review - 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt
By Star - January 22 - 5:36 amThis car is great! For a small car, it has a LOT of room. You can actually sit comfortably in the back seat! The sound system is top notch and the mp3 player is an added bonus. This car handles great and has a lot of pickup. If you want a smaller car with room and speed...choose the cobalt.
