This Year's Model Updates:

Not much. An upgraded stereo with a CD and MP3 player is now available on the base coupe and sedan. The Sport Appearance package that includes 16-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and sport suspension is also available on the base coupe and sedan.

Pros:
  • Low price, torquey four-cylinder engine, optional satellite radio and OnStar.
Cons:
  • Ancient design inside and out, cheap interior materials, poor build quality, low resale value, poor side-impact and front-offset crash test results.

I bought my new cavalier and I think its the greatest little car I have bought. I really love it,I have had other new cars but, this one takes the cake. it really is sporty and has a lot of get up and go for an economy car.

Ive had my 2003 Cavalier for almost 6 months and I have had no problems. It drives smooth and is very comfortable. There is a lot of space and it provides a nice ride.

  • Reliable, comfortable and great mpg - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

I have had my car a little over 4 years and have 116000 miles on it. I only recently had to replace the fan assembly, otherwise only the regular brakes, tires, battery, etc. This has been a very reliable car with great gas mileage. I average about 28-32 mpg but have gotten as much as 38 on long road trips. This is my second Chevy product and I will buy Chevy again, both cars have been wonderful. I would like something bigger but this one is hard to give up.

The car would be more fun to drive if it could speed up faster. Itwould be better all arount if it could top out at a higher top speed, around 130 like my other car (Ford Contour).

  • The best cheap car? - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

The extra 20 horsepower offered by the Ecotec in 2003s and later makes all the difference in the fun to drive department. Mine gets better than its 33 mpg highway rating too. Transmission shifts better than anything Japanese that is comparable in price. The others are right: Toyota and Honda are overrated. Very quiet at speed, great fun with the XM satellite radio, which by the way works all the way into Canada.

This car has made amazing mileage. On a trip across SD got 35 miles to the gallon and in normal traffic around 30 miles per gallon. It runs well and the air conditioning is excellent it keeps the entire car cool.

  • Good for the price - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

I bought my car in Nov of 2006, about to trade it in for something different. The suspension is really bad (every bump or hole in the road makes my car sound like its dying, when any other car Ive been in will go over the same ones very smoothly). I wouldnt recommend it for anyone with babies (small back seat), its not very safe (car would crumble in an accident), the front bumper is removable, it kind of "clips" on, the turn signal lights and tag light have been replaced many times, gas mileage is not that great! There is no way its 30MPG. Id say more like 20. Its not a bad car, overall I enjoyed having it.

  • Our Baby - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

My husband and I have had our Cavalier only a few months and have been very pleased with it. It is very fun to drive and we love the way it looks. We have read the other reviews and do not agree with everything that is said about the Cavalier. With todays gas prices it is a very economical car.

  • Great engine and transmission - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

Nice driving car, engine and transmission are terrific, ECOTEC engine was best of all the cars I drove. Ride is noisy, good CD, mileage, A/C is average.
