This Year's Model Updates:

Not much. An upgraded stereo with a CD and MP3 player is now available on the base coupe and sedan. The Sport Appearance package that includes 16-inch wheels, a rear spoiler and sport suspension is also available on the base coupe and sedan.

Pros:
  • Low price, torquey four-cylinder engine, optional satellite radio and OnStar.
Cons:
  • Ancient design inside and out, cheap interior materials, poor build quality, low resale value, poor side-impact and front-offset crash test results.

Car rides very good. Interior is very good. Abnormal wind noise when driveing with window down. Console rubs my leg a little. Other than that, I like it very much.

the car stalls suddenly without warning while shifting, the spare tire is a joke, it blew out on a major highway, leaving me no choice but to have the car towed on a flatbed, the back seats are very narrow and hard. poor exceleration and loose gears

  • Not too bad for a platform this aged - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier
    By -

It is well known that the Cav is based an an aged platform. They have made updates, which can be seen in improved performance and the like. The car is relatively fun to drive. On the reverse side, the car rattles like no other, makes unusual noises, and does not have the most forgiving of manual transmissions. The car has rather poor fit and finish, and certain signs of age are already noticeable. Compared to my 2001 Chrysler Concorde LXi I would expect better gas mis mileage to be better.

Bought with $4K rebate in April. Put on Dunlop A2 Sport tires. Drove to Dallas from Phoenix. 75MPH+ at 35MPG+. Thin paint on inside of bottom of Passenger door. Otherwise, perfect. Less than an hour at the dealer ...

This car is fun to drive. You can throw it around. You wont beat too many in a 1/4 mile race, but the highway driving experience is a blast.

  • I am very pleased with my new car. - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

I too was a faithful Honda fan. (My last 5 cars being Hondas.) I was very displeased with the customer service at my local Honda dealership and thought maybe it was time to shop around. I am glad I did. I am very happy with my Cavalier and do not regret trading my Honda in...

The vehicle is cramped inside and when My wife and I get out it seems like the shocks cant handle our weight and makes an awful sound. I took it back to dealer they fixed something but it still makes an awful sound when exiting. It simply is to small a vehicle.

  • Chevrolet Caviler 4 Door Sedan - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

I think that this is a pretty good car for the price. It has a very powerful and responsive ECOTEC 2.2 V4, and is very reliable in getting from here to there. I think that they need to expand their ideas on the interior design because a lot of things in the interior are made from flimsy material.

  • my 2004 cavalier - 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier

i purchased my 2004 cavalier in december 2003. i really like the styling of my car and the dependability.the downside to my car is the stiff and bumpy ride. and the interior design is somewhat hampering. especially the cup holders and heating and air conditioning controls. controls are too low on the dash. and are hard to reach. especially if you are using the cup holders.
