Left me stranded - 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
By jimmy - December 20 - 10:51 pmI bought this car with 34,000 miles. Drove great filled up once every 2 weeks. Great on gas. However the gauges didnt indicate when there was a problem with the engine. The water pump wasnt connected properly. Long story short. Headgasket blew as well as the engine. Get it inspected after you buy it.

Ive had worse - 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
By tcrews - June 8 - 12:16 pmMy wife had this car when we got married. Weve had to do some motor work (2.4 ltr.), but it has 197,000 miles. What gets me are the comments from mechanics when I take it in. Every mechanic that sees it says, "Oh great!" and tries to pawn it off on one of the other mechanics to work on. They tell me the motors a pain to work on and was known for overheating. I drive it 150 miles a day bare minimum. Still getting 28 miles to the gallon. Very uncomfortable. Best fix for the road and motor noise is a louder stereo. Was going to trade it in for a different car but nobody wanted it.

Not Good! - 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
By Shanna - July 9 - 2:00 amI have had my cavalier for almost three years and ive put more than 2 thousand dollars into it in a matter of a year. Something is always going wrong and it only starts up when it wants to. There is however nothing wrong with the car i have had it looked at several times. I wouldnt recommend purchasing any cavalier to anyone!

Good cheap car - 1998 Chevrolet Cavalier
By JenniE - April 18 - 2:00 amIve used this car for my commute for the past 3 years. So far its been very reliable. Sure, theres normal wear and tear on brakes and such, but for the price I paid for it, its been great. The cars at 80K now, and I have not had any problems with it yet. Im not planning on getting rid of it until at least 110K.
