  the best i ever owned - 1996 Chevrolet Caprice

  my dad got this one when it was new. he drove it for a number of years and loved it, i got it from him about a yr and a have ago ..since then i have put a stagering 60.000 mi on my chevy. and let me tell you it is the best!!! verry little prob since i got it,the only thing i had to do was to change the alt appart from oil change and tires. last sumer we took a vacation to Fla, i got 32 mpg belive it or not. i got a 4.3 v8 in it you would sware it was a 5.7..... if i had to put any thing that might be bad would have to be that i cant get a 2003 ,,,, why would chevy stop making them?????????

  This is my second Caprice and I love it. There a very few things that you can do with this car. The interior is very spacious you can fit a family of five comfortably. The trunk is hug and for a car the towing capacity is pretty good. Chevy had a great thing going I cant believe they stopped building these great cars.

  Ive had 40 cars so far. From Cadillac to Toyota to Suzuki, etc. Some have been used, but a majority have been new. I can safely say my 96 Caprice is the "smoothest, quietest and most comfortable car Ive ever been in" and thats saying something since I have been in BMW, Mercedes and Lexus (the supposed standard) Cars before. Lots of room inside. From what Ive seen these EASILY go 200K+ miles and with long-life fluids/timing chain, maintenance will not be a chore (like Japanese/German Cars). Sad to see it go, I will cherish mine.

  Purchased car new. In addition to regular maintenance: 2/97 serviced engine emission at 22239 mi 5/98 replaced digital gage cluster due to dim display at 39483 mi 3/99 serviced engine emission at 48399 mi 3/00 serviced auto load leveling suspension at 56156 mi 9/01 replaced oil cooler line at 61466 mi 3/01 replaced air hose to rear auto leveling air shocks at 63322 mi.

  A Highway Car - 1996 Chevrolet Caprice

  Cruises at 70 mph w/cruise control. Gets 24.5 true mpg at that speed. Replaced factory shocks with stiffer premium shocks and get positive steering and stopping. Not fast at takeoff but enough power from 30to70. Rides very well but not cushy or mushy with P225-75/15 Michelins. Plenty of room (Im 62" 200lbs) Minimal repair cost. Maintained carefully.
