1993 Caprice - 1993 Chevrolet Caprice
By Major Nairn - August 28 - 2:00 amI have owned 2 Chevy Caprices and they are very reliable and a real workhorse of a car. These models are the cars you keep for years and years because they can handle the high miles. For older folkes looking for reliability and safety you cant beat a Caprice. These cars are fast becoming collectors items as Chevrolet made its last Caprice in 1996. These cars are favorites for middle Eastern countries (where fuel prices are not an issue) as cabs and police cars and are bought in lots of 10-20 at a time and shipped to their respective countries.

caprice built like a rock - 1992 Chevrolet Caprice
By cloudsdoc - July 17 - 2:00 amI purchased this vehicle last year with over 160000. It is in excellent shape. Had alot of miles on it but The car had been well taken care of by the looks of it. It now has over 212000 miles on it and still no oil usage. Still blows cold air and gets 25 miles to the gallon on the highway. I love this car. Chevrolet has a good thing with the caprice.

Best New and used car Ive owned - 1992 Chevrolet Caprice
By HGB - May 29 - 2:00 amI bought my first Caprice new in October of 1991. When I can across another one in 2000 with only 40k miles, I had to pick it up also. They are a very comfortable car with enough of an engine to move it along nicely. On long highway trips it also gets decent gas mileage (25MPG on one and 27MPG on the other). If they still made these I would buy a new one.

want a great value!?!? - 1993 Chevrolet Caprice
By bowtie 666 - April 19 - 2:00 amthis is my 11th caprice of varying years, this is the 6th i have owned with the 5.0 (305 cu. inch) i honestly can say that after the late 80s any of the TBI (throttle body injection) cars are still the best as you can work on them in your yard, they get great mileage (mine have averaged 15- 16 city and 24++++ on the road, even as high as the low 30s with a stiff tailwind @ 65 with the cruise set) if GM had half a brain trust they would go back to building these things!

Built well, but Beware... - 1990 Chevrolet Caprice
By 87classic - March 12 - 2:00 amI bought this car off an older uncle in my family who pampered this car and rarely drove it. As of this date it has only 180000KMs and the problems with it are increasing by the day. BEWARE! i have the 307 W/OD engine in this car, it gets a mere 12MPG (THATS RIGHT!) and sucks down oil like you wouldnt believe. I take VERY good care of this car and the engine just seems to want to quit on me. We think its the valve guide seals, or the carburetor float is letting in too much gas and diluting the oil, or possible the piston rings are gone...however its not worth my $$ to get it fixed ($700-1200 job)

Caprice Classic Love it! - 1992 Chevrolet Caprice
By schlots - March 10 - 2:00 amPurcased this car on an estate auction with 27,000 miles in 2001. Best car I have ever owned! Luxury, reliability, great to drive, and best of all, very economical.

192K and Still Truckin - 1995 Chevrolet Caprice
By KCmajones - March 2 - 2:00 amAbout 2 years ago I was looking at a lot of old cop cars to buy and by luck, my friends older brother was looking to sell his caprice he had bought through ebay a few years prior (he bought a one way plane ticket to NJ and drove it back to Detroit!) because he needed a truck. So I bought the 95 ex-NJ state police Caprice from him. I paid $3,000 for it and it had 165K miles. Ive had to replace the starter, front shocks (heavy engine), ignition cap, wires, and fuel filter (about $1600 total). I just recently hit 192K miles and the engine (original miles) runs clean. The only downside to this car is the lees than stellar gas mileage.

My 90 Crapiece Wagon - 1990 Chevrolet Caprice
By KnowMoreBowTies - November 18 - 2:00 amBought w/ 73K miles from a private seller who ran a body shop where the car was repaired after being sideswiped. Runs well but in seven years, the paint has dulled, the headliner has detached from the ceiling, the dash cover has split apart, weatherstripping has torn, and electrical problems have developed. On cold days, the wipers wont come on for a minute or more and they continue sweeping when you shut them. The engine nearly stalls each time you come to a stop but you get used to that. I have replaced engine gaskets, carburetor, tranny, exhaust, brakes, tires, springs, shocks, alternator, water pump, radiator, in the 40K that I have owned this thing.
