Bought this from a GM technician after my 87 S-10 Blazer was on its last leg and must say I do like it alot compared to what I had. Interior is very nice, stereo is good for being O.E., handeling and ride quality is good for its size. Dont expect to beat any speed records with it, its not meant for that but it can get up and go when you need it to. I installed an after-market cold air intake and it has improved gas milage and acceleration a bit. Definately a step above some others out there in its class for the price.

I bought this vehicle used with 23,000 miles. Had a few minor repairs made under warranty (ticking noise in spedometer, rear glass defog, transmission coolant hose leak). Now at 68K miles. All is fairly well except intermittant driver window failure and occasional oil drip at hose. Biggest problem is electronic 4WD sometmes fails to engage. "Service 4WD" light comes on. Not had it checked out yet. Worked about 50% this winter. Also, cruise control stopped working about 10K miles ago. Its not the fuse. All else has been good.

  • Looks great but PIECE OF CRAP - 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

nothing but problems from the get go. Within the first 6 months i had the brakes, suspension, and upper console inside replaced. i had to replace...windshile wiper computer that was "fixed" 3 times....still is kinda wacky.... oil coller lines, passenger side seat adjustment lever snapped off twice...both wheel bearings had to be replaced...hmmmm $500 each side to fix, then theres the ball joints, differential leaks, front wheel bearings had to be done again... drivers side door sags had to be readjusted, heater works when it wants to. The 100,000 mile engine coolent gummed up at about 60,ooo miles

Best of the big 3 SUVs. More comfortable than our Jeep or Ford. Fuel mileage averages 23mpg on the highway. 4WD is much less intrusive than either above model. Ride is better than either. The interior has lots of nooks and crannies to store "stuff". The privacy glass keeps the interior cool in summer. A nice soft ride, smooth handling, and easy manuverability. Very quiet ride with the exception of a few rattles from the plastic dash. We will be buying a second one

  • Sorry to see her go - 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

Ive had my blazer for 4 years. I drive hard and I put 60,000 miles on her. I have to trade her in cause I cant afford the raising gas prices I need something smaller. As far as ride, power, room, features, and dependablity this car gave me everything. The ball joints went bad on the front axle, but it was in the shop for a day and it was covered under warranty. Im gonna miss her

  • I LOVE MY BLAZER - 1999 Chevrolet Blazer

I BOUGHT IT WITH 45,000 MILES THIS LAST JULY 02 AND PAID $15,000. IT HAS EVERYTHING BUT P-SEAT {PREFFERED}. EVERYTHINGS BEEN FINE SO FAR. I LOVE THE WAY IT DRIVES AND LOVE THE PEWTER COLOR. I FEEL VERY PROUD WHEN I DRIVE ON BAD WEATHER WHILE I SEE OTHER PEOPLE STRUGGLING. RIGHT KNOW IT HAS 53k. I STARTED TO NOTICE SOME CLUNKY NOISE COMING OUT FROM THE FRONT SUSPENSSION. ALSO FRONT BEARINGS ARE NOISY. IT HAS A LOT OF RUST ON BATTERY TRAY AND EVEN SOME ON THE CHASSIS. I REALLY LIKE THE SPARE TIRE UNDER THE CAR. ITS PRETTY GOOD FOR A SUV!!.

  • Tried, Tested and Truly Poor Quality! - 1999 Chevrolet Blazer
    By -

I am very disappointed in this vehicle. It developed a series of problems after only 9,000 miles. They included pinion seal failures (7 times). Rear Differential was rebuilt at 27,000 miles. The oil cooler lines were replaced twice. The transfer case leaked. The cab has numerous rattles. Very poor build quality. GM should be ashamed of itself for producing a vehicle like this. It has approximately 33,000 miles on it now. I should get rid off it before the warrenty runs out. I do not recommend this vehicle as I have read other consumers complaints, and believe that there are numerous design faults with the truck that have never been solved.
