  • Disappointed - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

When we bought ours, it had 52000 miles on it. It was great for a little while, then the transmission went bad (reverse). At 76,000miles, the radiator needed to be backflushed. The front wheel bearings went at 80,000 miles. A rear axle noise started at 81,000. The axle seals were bad when we got it. The rear u-joint was replaced at 60,000. Also had some other minor problems. I would probably never buy another one. I love Chevy, but dont care for the Blazer at all. At least not this one!

  • Not worth the $$$ - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

I bought this Blazer with about 20K miles on it. Within 4 months, things started failing. The washer pump is out and has a leak. The transmission is slipping and the motor is very weak with a lot of dead spots in the acceleration. This will be the last Chevy for me. The quality has dropped dramatically in the last few years.

  • Wish Ford made Something this Cool - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
    By -

Ive had my blazer about 5 months, and purchased it with 38000 miles on it. I had it less than 2 hours when a friend broke the seat recliner off when trying to get to the back seat. I love the ZR2 even though the ride is that of a F- 350. rough, and loud. when it comes to actual function im not as enthusiastic. The HEAVY spare tire mount has no re- enforcement so the second you dont latch it all the way and the wind blows...... 2 HUGE dents. The plastic on the seat is something you constanly bump entering and exiting the vehical... Mine is broken.... Overall, i wish ford made something that looked as cool in a small SUV.

  • Mmmmm, ball joints!! - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
    By -

If you would like to own a Chevrolet Blazer, prepare to set up a special savings account for the purchase of replacement ball joints. These things love em! And no I do not go off road and/or drive this vehicle hard at all. I had a 91 previously, and it was the same way. Every 5 to 10 thousand miles it needed ball joints, and a tailpipe.

  • Never Another Blazer - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

This is the 2nd Blazer, also had one Tahoe, and all consistent. One bad transmission after another. So bad, cant depend on it for long distance driving. Completely fed up. Having to rebuild transmission multiple times before 3 yrs is, well, there just arent words. Was also backed into by a little Rav4, Blazer had extensize damage, $4000+. Going shopping for a Toyota.

  • Another Typical GM product - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
    By -

I purchased this with 26,000 miles on it and 100,000 miles later... A transmission both wheel bearings Drivers Seat Adj Handle Power Window - Drivers side And now a constant check engine Light Its shot, GM / Chevy makes a cheap vehicle and like anything in life you get what you pay for. My next vehicle will be a foreign built, non union, quality built vehicle.

  • not necessarily the best yet - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
    By -

So far. 1 transmission, 1 door hinge kit, 3 interior air vents. 2 seat recliner rods,1 fuel sending unit. Still counting. This is a lot for a vehicle that is very well taken care of. Firm believer that chevy could have done a much better job on many items. But as a pet peeve why does chevy continue to use the plastic bushings in the door hinges? They never last. The replacements are brass. Why not start there to begin with?

  • Chevy start over - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

I like the look of the Chevy Blazer. It handle well. My problems with it is gas performance and get up and go power. Its lacking.

  • Do Not by this Car - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer
    By -

I purchased this car because of its stylish apperance. However, in the two years that I have had it, I have replaced almost every major portion of it. It has been in the shop almost twenty five times in 18 mo. The suspension went out at 39,000 miles. I have had several electrical problems with every electrical component in it. The radio cuts out for no reason, the window motors have been replaced, the alternator, the battery, the speakers, the power locks fuses (12 times before the problem was found.) The car is beautiful and everything I need, but its in the shop and the driveway more than I drive it.

  • very fond of the blazer - 2000 Chevrolet Blazer

We bought this car when we moved to Colorado and we have had an awful lot of fun with it. Really really tough and reliable in the snow. Always felt safe in bad conditions in city and country. Like a rock. No trouble with baby seats and so on, it was good when the kids were really little for all their stuff in the back. We did some very long trips in it and it never let us down. Since it got old the handling has gotten very squishy but the car is still solid enough. We will be sad to say goodbye.
