Overview & Reviews
Front sheet metal is restyled. Regular-length versions are dropped from the lineup, leaving only the extended-length model. Multileaf steel springs replace single-leaf plastic springs. One engine is available, the 190-horsepower, 4.3-liter V6. Air conditioning is standard, and remote keyless entry is a new option.

Well done - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By D.norm Stroup - July 10 - 2:00 amWe purchased this van when our family outgrew our Geo Metro. It has served us well for four years with two and three children under age 5. We have driven it on vaction for over 1000 up to 3000 miles, once a year, with no problems. It has been realativelyeasy to work on for me. I changed the water pump and spark plugs with little mechanical experience and found changing my own oil a simple task. This van has taken its licks from three wrecks, one slightly major. It protected my young family and after repairs has continued on with only pour repair complaints. I recomend this van for families

We named it Tugger - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By J J B - March 23 - 2:00 amWe haved loved our AWD Astro. It has pulled the camper over the Rockies, forded Jeep trails in the mountains, hauled the dogs, kids, and everything else you can think of. Very versatile. Tight foot room in front, but all vans do that. With AWD and ABS it is the best snow and ice vehicle we have ever had. It still gets 14-19 mpg and the 4.3 is underpowered, but very reliable. Still doesnt burn more than a quart between oil changes at 125K miles. Too bad they plan to discontinue. We keep driving this one because we cant get another set up the same way.

Great Buy! - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By Schumacher - July 9 - 2:00 amPurchased because of our large family. Needed a vehicle that would hold 8 passengers with no problem. Our van has seen many ball fields & vacations. Weve only had a few problems with it. Alternator & fuel pump. We have over 190,000 miles on our van it still runs like the day we bought it. It still averages them same gas mileage now as it did then. This was a great purchase!

Works well, few problems - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By Carl Bradshaw - June 7 - 2:00 amReliable, roomy, comfortable for kids.Drivers seat a bit small especially left leg room. The main driver, my wife loves it mostly for the great view of the road and the carrying capacity. Dutch doors in the rear nice, however the weatherstripping has to be replaced once every three years. Handling fine for a truck chassis vehicle.

My 2nd Astro - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By DJH - January 29 - 2:00 amMy 1st was a 89 w/160000mls. Traded in for my 95. Ive put 35,000mls in 2 yrs. This is by far the best van ive owned. Tune ups are tough. Outside of routine stuff & fuel pump, no major mechanical problems. its got 108,000mls now. I have 6 kids, not too big- not too small. Not a luxo-van, but nice car for the money. Lots of power and drives nice for a van. Drove to Florida, filled gas in NJ, VA & GA( round trip 3,000mls @ 130 gals.).

I would buy another one - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By wlraley - November 10 - 2:00 amBought the Astro new in 1995 and planned to drive it 30K on company business. Things changed and I have it seven years later. I have not done anything to it other than maintenance in 126000 miles. I love sitting up above most other vehicles including the rest of the mini vans. The Astro is responsive and solid and gets great milage on the highway 20mpg. We have camped in it with the back seats out, my son and I have driven it several time to Colorado to ski (just through everything includings downhill skis in the back and go) and I drive it everyday to work Not many vehicles can do all that.

1995 Chevy Astro Overall Rating - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By karday - August 7 - 2:00 amWe bought this with 46000 miles. Conversion by Choo Choo. Excellent dealer. Car is smooth and quiet and relatively dependable. Disappointed that the trans went at 140000 as GMs are supposed to be the best. (never had a trans go bad until we were required to change fluids) Great on tires and other maintenance.

Chevy Astro - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By MikeL - July 23 - 2:00 amI have used this vehicle to pull a horse trailer and it has been very reliable. It now has 146000 miles and is still going strong. I have not had to do anything to this vehicle except routine repairs.

The Relialby of This Van - 1995 Chevrolet Astro
By Jackie 3 - April 24 - 2:00 amIve had my van for 4 years and it was purchased with 52,000 miles. My Astro is a very dependable. In the 4 years I have had $150.00 in repairs and the engine has only dropped 1% in compression power from the original power. I have 103,034 miles and I look forward to another 103,000 miles
