Model Overview:

A luxury crossover SUV, the Cadillac SRX utilizes components and construction more often associated with cars rather than the rugged truck-based underpinnings GM uses for its more traditional SUVs. The result is a more comfortable ride and better handling, along with plenty of versatility unless you need to tackle heavy-duty chores such as towing or off-road travel. Typically priced below European rivals, the SRX makes for a genuinely appealing alternative thanks to its distinctive styling, pleasant driving character and feature-rich cabin.

If you're shopping for a used Cadillac SRX, you'll find early models with either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive and options like a third-row seat and a V8. Later versions of this Cadillac crossover are a bit smaller, with front-wheel drive or all-wheel drive, two rows of seating and V6 power. Although the newer version sacrifices some space, power and performance, it offers a significantly nicer interior with upgraded materials and technology.

  • Obsessed! - 2013 Cadillac SRX

Craved a caddy ever since debut of Art n Science design theme. the SRX offered best of what I wanted/needed; ultra snazzy style, usable cargo space, lots o tek and dependable safety features. Had to give a little, on gas mileage, but all good! Downside is relatively slow, buzzy acceleration. When i want to pass, i want to pass... then, not later! Disappointing low-end torque, but once it gets there, it moves! Also, seems like not enough engine compartment sound insulation? Or, maybe higher quality materials couldve/shouldve been used?? Getting used to fat c pillar blind spots is thrilling, but potentially dangerous?! All things considered; electric vs. gas, coupe-sedan-truck, vanilla vs. rocky road, I love my SRX waaaayy more than not!! Unfortunately, may have to consider a Jaguar F-Pace, Lincoln MKC, Audi or Range Rover if the XT5 2019 freshening doesnt make it more appealing (to me). Not quite on-board with the industrys design direction yet. Still rockin my SRX Performance!!

Have only owned this vehicle for 1 week! Got a certified 100,000 mile one with 40K miles. Turns heads. I am currently getting in mixed highway and street travel 20.8 miles per gallon. Very please compared to that of most SUVs. Handles very well when pushed too. Otherwise it is a very smooth highway cruiser. Nice alternative to my old SUV!

Weve owned Cadillacs over 30 years but this is first crossover vehicle. It is exceptionally efficient on ice and snow. Would I buy another SRX? Probably not. When I have passengers in the SRX there is no place for my purse except in cargo area which is very inconvenient. Mileage per gallon is poor and the small gas tank requires frequent stops to buy gasoline. Rear entry door is exceedingly slow opening and closing. Aluminum trim on heat vents on dash reflect and glare badly in both outside rear view windows, a serious problem. Lacks interior dash control for rear entry door, very inconvenient.

  • Big Disapointment - 2006 Cadillac SRX

This is my first Cadillac and over all I have been very pleased. The ride is "Cadillac", handling and performance is more than I expected. However, after only two plus years I am going to trade it in for another SUV. Im in sales and drive over 35K miles per year. My SRX burns a quart of oil every 1.5K miles. It seems as often as I put gas in I put in oil. No Cadillac dealership either wants to or can help me with my issue. Most disappointing!

  • Long time wanted! - 2008 Cadillac SRX

My wife and I had been planning for a Honda Pilot or Toyota Highlander for a while, until we came across SRX at Edmunds.com. We got both dealer and consumer rebates of the month. Now we have it, love it and cant live without it.

After leasing a 99 Eldo, I leased an 02 Subaru Outback Legacy (LL Bean edition). Both vehicles were upscale for their class and had many great features. I looked for a quality used vehicle as I wanted to get away from premium fuel. I traded in my used 96 Seville which finally had too many miles for the SRX which runs on regular. Would have been a smart fuel move except for the poor mileage I am getting and rising fuel prices. Otherwise, I am very satisfied with this vehicles handling and ride. I purchased used as I am getting ready to retire and dont want big payments, but I miss the comfort of the Eldo (wish they still made them) and dont want a new vehicle with cheap seating.

I love the sound of the Northstar growl during acceleration and its excellent handling. Kids really enjoy the Sky Roof and so do I.

  • I really wanted to love this car, but... - 2004 Cadillac SRX

Something is always broken. Driveline vibration required axle rebuild. Numerous suspension repairs, particularly front. Replaced the radio 2x. Brake pads last 12,000 miles max. Towed when electric failed due to bad dealer repair. Front fenders crease from mild front impact (small subtle bend in middle of tire well). Dont buy this car if you have children. Seatbelts dont work well with child seats because buckles are too large - cant get the seat tight. Not designed for childseat in safest position in middle rear, just outside positions. And can you believe the 2wd version tipped up in us govt rollover testing. Somehow GM avoided the test for the first 4 years of production.

  • What a surprise! - 2008 Cadillac SRX

I have only purchased Japenese luxury cars for the past 20 years. This was the perfect storm, Lexus and Acura didnt ring my bell. I hate Infinity and I can never see eye to eye with the German companies. I decided to look at the Cadillacs. No way I was buying one, but I looked anyway. The test drive was fantastic. After much internal agonizing, I went back. There were large rebates in play and they had exactly what I was looking for. I pulled the trigger! I have never enjoyed a vehicle more. Wonderful engineering, beautiful fit and finish and a great stereo system. It has it all, size, comfort, power and a wonderful 50/50 weight distribution. Kudos to the new Cadillac management!

  • Most satisfaction of any car owned - 2004 Cadillac SRX
    By -

Having owned or leased 4 cars in the last ten years, this is the most satisfied Ive been with any car. V8/transmission is quiet and smooth as any. Longer wheelbase and AWD gives it great handling and confidence in winter climates. Ultraview sunroof is unique and very enjoyable to have. Pricey when you put it all together, but in this case you get what you pay for.
