Oil burners - 2005 Cadillac Deville
By Paul Zobel - March 16 - 8:01 pmAfter purchasing our third Cad I am just as disappointed in the area of engine reliability that it makes me sick. The engine is now burning oil to the tune of a quart every 100 miles or so. I have found other owners who have the same complaint and it looks like I will have to take it in for an overhaul. It only has 45,000 miles on it and yet it uses this much oil. There is no leakage nor smoking that I can see. I dont think we will ever buy another Cadillac.

I love it - 1999 Cadillac Deville
By Kareem - March 11 - 8:06 pmFor a car thats 10 years old it still turns heads. I did my research on the northstar before i bought it and heard nothing but horror stories. but at 143,000 miles it runs perfect. it runs so good i wonder if the engine or trans has been rebuilt.but with the high mileage Im prepared for something to go wrong.

lovemytank - 1995 Cadillac Deville
By Gingin66 - March 6 - 1:34 amI am so spoiled by the ride of this car. So smooth, so easy to handle. So quiet a whisper can be heard. Very stylish and somewhat timeless exterior. I felt so safe inside that car. In 10 years it never let me down. Only replaced ac fan. Had minor problem with abs system which fixed itself if I turned car off and restarted it, thats all. In ten years! Hardly used oil reasonable gas mileage. I sold it to buy new cts. Big mistake, no problems with cts but really noisy ride and uncomfortable. Kept thinking Id get used to it but alas, . I miss my old caddie every day which is why Im here on this site checking reviews on the 2002 dts.

roll in style - 1990 Cadillac Deville
By don sorello - March 4 - 4:24 amGreat car. I paid 1 grand 6 months ago for it for a starter car. It sat in some guys drive way for 2 years, I put a new battery in it and it fired right up after I cleaned all the birds nest and hornet nest from it. just took it on a 3000 mile round trip and ran great with 125,000 miles on it. got about 24-26 miles to the gallon and get about 19 around town. It seems to lose hub caps and trim every time i drive after i take out of the shop.

Caddy Deville - 2001 Cadillac Deville
By Christian - February 7 - 2:31 pmI purchased a 2001 Cadillac Deville (Base Sedan) in 2004 with 9,000 miles on it. It was purchased from a prominent local dealer, and it looked new, smelled new, and drove new the day I drove it off the lot for a total price of $25,000 including the 5 year 75,000 mile extended warranty. The car drove like a dream for the first 3 years, and was overall “problem free” as for the 4th year on, it has been extremely time consuming costly in order to keep it running sufficiently and looking good. The extended warranty on the vehicle recently ended in July. The company was exceptional. From the year 2004 to 2009 the warranty spent over $10,000 in repairs for this car

Nine Solid Years - 2000 Cadillac Deville
By Happy Caddy Gal - February 4 - 3:43 pmBought car new in Dec. 2000. Never any problems - only oil changes, batteries, and tires required. All gadgets still work great, but service engine light has come on - transmission torque converter code. Mileage has not dropped, but light still worries me. Since dealer wants over $3K to fix what is now a $5K car, I will probably buy a foreign luxury car (Lexus, Audi, Mercedes). Refuse to buy from any company that took government bailout money. GM and banks should perish for stealing from taxpayers.

Very satisfying, but not without issues. - 1996 Cadillac Deville
By Darkness - January 28 - 6:56 amI purchased this vehicle with 26,600 miles in September 20009. Previous car was a 2004 Mitsubishi Galant. My particular example has had some issues. Two weeks after purchase, engine started misfiring but only at under 5 MPH. Replaced plugs, wires, etc. didnt fix it. At this point Ive gotten used to it and dont want to put more money into it. Keyless entry stopped working for no reason. The car gets poor fuel economy (probably related to the misfire), around 10 in the city and 19 on the highway. Still, this is a very satisfying car to drive. Plenty of power and space for 5 adults (front center position is a squeeze). Trunk is immense.
