Another dripping Cadillac - 1997 Cadillac Deville
By dublinlady - October 4 - 2:00 amCadillacs are supposed to be well-made luxury vehicles. Ive owned 3 and they have all had a fluid leak at less than 50,000 miles on all. My 1992 needed a new transmission at less than 40k miles, and my 1997 had oil leak and needed new water pump at less than 45k miles. 3 batteries in the 1997. Then, the a/c started blowing out the defrost vents. Noisy brakes, hestitating. Then it started stalling out. Car now gone.

So what if its a Cadillac-I still like. - 2002 Cadillac Deville
By RPD - October 4 - 2:00 amOther than the image problem as voiced by my teen-agers that I have purchased an "old persons" car, I think it was a great choice. I was looking for a larger, more comfortable alternative to the various SUV options and I think I have found a winner. Some well paid marketing wiz at GM actually fulfilled his(her) goal at sucking in the younger (just a little) generation before their usual buyer group died out-at least as represented by my case. I have no problem with the build quality so far and the interior design looks and feels great to me.

GM Quality? - 2003 Cadillac Deville
By Rudy Moon - September 30 - 2:00 amIve had my 2000 DeVille for 2 1/2 years, and its a fine car when it is not in for repairs. Unfortunately, it spends too much time in the shop, mostly for problems related to initial construction and component failure - not dealer service & support. Ive been stranded twice ... ONSTAR doesnt work when you have electrical problems .... but its fun riding 100 miles in a tow truck with a "good ol boy". Im not sure I can afford this car after the warranty runs out.

Excellent auto - 2000 Cadillac Deville
By Stan Krolikoski - September 24 - 2:00 amI have had my 2000 DHS for 2 years and 24,000 miles. The few problems I had were fixed quickly. The car rides beautifully both in the Bay area traffic jams, through the twisting canyons at 50 mph and on the highways at 70 MPH. The interior comfort is fine, and the ability to sit 6 in a pinch (hope the person in the middle front is a kid!) is a plus. Those that feel that they need to buy a BMW or Mercedes to get a good ride and luxury should look at the Deville. Its a bargain for what you get.

TOP NOTCH - 1991 Cadillac Deville
By WPB - September 23 - 2:00 amI have owned a lot of cars and still do, but this is the best car I have ever owned. We bought it used in 93 with 20,000 miles on it and just turned over 400,000 miles with the same engine & transmission. We take good care of it and it still looks great. We do not have to add a drop of oil to the engine between oil changes. The power & performance is very good and I know that my wife & kids are safer in a larger, heavier car. We did have to do a some work on the A/C at about 100k miles. Back struts about 250k miles. Alternator & water pump at about 300k miles. Just a couple other small things besides normal. The question? How far will it go?

DTS Performs to Expectations - 2000 Cadillac Deville
By Muttwalker - September 19 - 2:00 amThis car corners like it is on railroad tracks considering its size. Creature comforts are superb and it rides like a dream. Averaging 23 mpg during a country road, city street, and freeway commute.

Caddillacs in general - 2003 Cadillac Deville
By marie h - September 16 - 2:00 amThere must be some reason why NO Dealer will give a reasonable trade in allowance for a Caddy. They are unreliable, costly to repair and flat out dangerous after the warranty runs out. Ive had 4, and will NEVER buy it again. Dealer in Atlanta was deceitful. EVERYTHING went wrong in that piece of junk. NEVER will I buy another Caddy. More gadgets do not make quality.

Beautiful Machine - 2004 Cadillac Deville
By Scotty1927 - September 15 - 8:11 pmI love old Caddys and Elvis because my dad loved old Caddys and Elvis. Now they are obsessions. Just picture this, since my children refuse to, a black Caddy with black carriage roof, Gold Package, polished chrome wheels with gold Cadillac emblems, and Vogue Tyres. It dont get no better! George Jones, Pasty Cline, Conway Twitty, and Ray Price sound even better when I am cruising in that old car. The car is mobile art. An object of beauty and grace. Having said all that there are some real concerns. If you whisper "head gasket" I will break into a cold sweat. She is running Mobile 1 and I have no money for repairs. Windows are for looking out of, NOT rolling down. Nylon window components have a horrible reputation. The brakes dont always seem quite up to the task. The paint is flaking off of the radio and climate controls. Its the first thing I see when I get in the car and I cannot believe it. As much as I love Cadillac, GM went belly up for a reason. FWD doesnt make sense for this car. Too much weight up front and the turning radius is bigger than a cul-de-sac. The car actually feels downsized to me. Not nearly as much room as my 1993 Fleetwood Brougham and certainly nothing like my 1995 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon. I hate to see these cars disappear. Some of the new Cadillacs are four cylinder. They are shaped like beans and look like my wifes 1987 Accord. Play some Haggard. I need a drink.

2002 DTS - 2003 Cadillac Deville
By Dave Albanese - September 12 - 2:00 amAfter owning a 2000 DTS and having lots of problems right out of the show room I was a little against another Caddy but gave it a second try and so far overall performance and quality has been superb. On long trips which I have only made one its a dream and just daily driving is a pleasure. Its Quality++++
