  • Loved It - 1995 Cadillac Deville

We bought our 95 in 1999 with approx 50K miles on it. (We were in a potentionlly dangerous wreck in an earlier model and all four of us had not a scratch. It sold me on keeping a Cadillac as our family car.) Ive driven it for four years and it now has 150K. Aside from normal wear and tear, it was reliable. We are upgrading to an SUV as we are expecting another child, but would gladly purchase another Cadillac in years to come. Even with high milage, the resale value is good. We paid cash originally, so we got four years and 100K miles in a luxury car for just about $10,000.

  • Best in class - 1992 Cadillac Deville

Overall car performance, quality, and value rates excellent. Rear-seat leg room is a definite plus, making long trips with four passengers very comfortable. This is a great touring car. Repair and maintenance cost is fairly high, but frequency of repairs is low due to high reliability. If you are considering a fully equipped lower- end car, note that by the time you add all the options this car has standard onto a lower-end car, the price will be the same and you will not have a Cadillac.

  • Still the Best after 100 years - 2004 Cadillac Deville

The ride quality of the Deville cannot be matched by any European maker. Lexus is in the ball park, but cannot give the overall comfort. Lexus still cannot build a comfortable back seat. Quality and service back up this world benchmark vehicle. How do they keep the price so reasonable? P.S. On a recent trip from Pittsburg to Sarasota my Deville got 30 mpg! I am thru with harsh riding, overpriced nameplates from Europe.

  • Breaking stereotypes - Young DTS owners - 2004 Cadillac Deville
    By -

My wife and I just bought our first Cadillac and couldnt be happier. I should also mention we are both under 35 yrs old and live on the east coast. We could have bought a BMW, Lexus or Mercedes, but they didnt come close to the DTS in features, comfort and power. And as far as "lacking the upscale image of its competition" as mentioned in the editors review, I rather blaze my on trail then follow the herd with their plasticimports.

Rides like a dream, tons of interior room, especially in the back seat, and lots of luggage space.

  • bad motor - 1995 Cadillac Deville
    By -

From 1991 to 1997 cadillac had a bad crankshaft the motors would only last 100,000 miles. unfortunately I bought two of thier cars and also replaced two motors and have since replaced one of those. No more cadillac for me

  • Expensive Lemon !!!!! - 2000 Cadillac Deville

At 15,000 miles, all 4 rotors had to be turned, a NJ dealers fault. The car uses 1 qt of oil every 1,000 miles. Dealer said this is normal. At 52,000 miles the crankshaft sensors failed. At 57,600 miles a wheel bearing and hub assembly failed. At 62,000 miles a motor mount failed. At 64,000 miles the water pump failed. At 75,000 miles the battery started to leak and had to be replaced. At 80,000 miles the transmission failed and had to be repaired. All this at a cost of over $3,100 for repairs, not including normal maintenance, on a new car just 3 years old. Is this what GM calls quality in a $40,000 car?

  • A dream to drive and own! - 2004 Cadillac Deville

A dream to drive and own! with plenty of extra performance when needed. I wish it were a rear wheel drive car and some retro style influence (maybe fins) then I would be totally in awe.
