Lap of Luxury - 1992 Cadillac Deville
By DEVILLE-FAN - July 30 - 11:54 pmI purchased my 1992 Deville in November of 2008 primarily to be a basic A to B car that I felt would be able to keep me safe during the winter driving months. I only paid $700 dollars for it, and to me it was the deal of the century. It was evident that the car started its life in Florida. The body was in excellent condition, and the interior had worn well for its age. The leather seats were very comfortable. More so than my sofa. The car was as smooth going over the road as an ocean liner, but the downside was that it took turns with all the agility of the Titanic. It was clear what market this car was engineered to satisfy, but even still I did enoy the feeling of riding on air.

Black Beauty - 1999 Cadillac Deville
By Joe - July 30 - 8:21 pmPros: handles well and is a comfortable drive. Holds its shine very well. Very little engine maintenance required. Cons: side mirror too small when merging into traffic (especially in a construction zone). Power windows failed during hot weather. Automatic Antenna motor broke.

Awesome Ride - 1996 Cadillac Deville
By Lee - July 30 - 11:30 amPurchased the car with less than 10k on it and have put nearly 75k on it since then. The comfort and power are exceptional, as is the gas mileage. At nearly 24-28mpg, there is not another comparable vehicle even made today. No outrageous problems or issues with anything. It still turns heads and blows doors off of "wannabees". Absolutely Awesome Ride. Hope to keep it another 10 years!

bye bye northstar, Ill miss you - 1998 Cadillac Deville
By Steve - July 23 - 10:56 pmBought with 106,000 miles on it from a dealer. Well optioned with stabilitrac and all the goodies that made it nice to drive. I kept it well maintained. After 5 years of service, engine developed head gasket problems that caused overheating and engine shutdowns. I found that even though the car was still like new the repair would cost more than the car was worth. Loved the car and hated to see it go. Looked at getting a newer one but found that many 4.6L V8 engines have the same problem mine had. My advice is buy young and sell before 150,000 miles to avoid the problem. Would buy another in a heartbeat if no 4.6 liter engine in it. Too pretty to trash so donated to a charity.

My Caddy - 1992 Cadillac Deville
By Adael - July 22 - 11:24 amWe bought our Caddy a year and a half ago, it only had 64,000 miles on it. Now it is up to 80,000 and have not had to do much more than regular maintenance. We had to replace rear brake cylinders, the power steering line, and would like to replace the stereo system. The antenna no longer goes all the way back down & we only have one working speaker. Our mechanic has been hesitant to do a complete tune-up, so maybe taking it to a dealer would be a better idea.

Nothing Better - 2003 Cadillac Deville
By Cadillacs for 20 yrs - July 9 - 4:12 pmI have owned Cadis since I was 17. I bought this DTS w/35,000 and now have 135,000. only issue was a power steering hose and one fuel injector. I will be buying another for sure. The ride is perfect even with 5 people in the car. handling is good for such a large sedan. power is great and I cant say enough about the Bose sound system. This is definently the best Ive owned yet. Had a 03 deville before this one and traded it in w/165,000 and did not have any serious problems w/ it either. Dark blue w/black int and get tons of complements. looks good sitting still and EVERYONE makes a coment about it under the nioght lights. absolutely beautiful car!!!

Great Car!!! - 1995 Cadillac Deville
By Richard - July 7 - 5:40 pmI love mine very few problems with it. I paid 5000 dollars for it used with only 28k miles on it and it was the best money I could spend it gets me to and from my work and two jobs I also use it for leisure travel on occasion and with all the time I spend in a car it starts to hurt my back in this car I rarely fell discomfort even after many hours. the only real down fall is when gas went up to 5 dollars a gallon and it cost me $120 a tank to fill it up, I cant say enough about how much I love mine

What American Luxury is all about - 2004 Cadillac Deville
By LT1 fan - June 29 - 11:28 amI never considered Caddy, but always drove big American cars for their comfort, safety and value. Test drove Impalas, Lucernes, Lexus ES and finally this Caddy. Hands down the best family car for the money (especially used). Huge but still handles nicely. Cavernous trunk, very low noise and exceptional stability means great road trip material for the family. Northstar provides great highway performance and very good gas mileage (22-23mpg). Love the simple layout and easy-to-use creature comforts. A couple of issues with window regulators and electrical shorts (all fixed under warranty) marred the otherwise great reliability and consistency. GM better not discontinue this one!

Better have deep pockets or skills - 1996 Cadillac Deville
By StillRidinClean - June 23 - 5:59 pmBought my first and highly sought after Caddy. Almost half below market value but with an AC problem. $120 got me a small part and fill, AC works fine. Love to drive this beauty around and have fallen in love with the Northstar. Ive also won me a fair share of races, lol. But problems started occuring. Engine overheating (Was lucky enough to have friend fix), Serpentine belt (lost control of steering) $80, and just the other day the car wouldnt start despite a full charged battery. Did I mention the car is now accelerating funny, transmission? So, If you are skilled enough to do your own work you are going to love this car. If youre going to considering buying, be sure to check history.

Plush ride, needs service every 4 month - 2002 Cadillac Deville
By Uwe & Wendy - June 22 - 6:11 pmWe got the car in April 2008 with 60k miles. My wife has a 70 miles commute every day, so we are putting a lot of milage on the vehicel. Plush ride, very comfortable. However, every 4 months or so there had been issues - mostly with the electronic. Every visit in the shop is at least $700. No wonder that you can by those used ones so dirt cheap - you need to invest $3,000 or more every year just to keep them running! Gas milage is about 19 MPG on premium gas (the poster who reported 30+ miles is clearly smoking something!) with a mix of city & highway.
