  I really enjoy this car. I bought it from someone who had already fixed all of its little problems (lol), so I got a great car for the money. It handles great and rides like a Caddy.

  This Car is Junk - 2001 Cadillac Catera

  I purchased this vehicle and it has been in the shop more than on the road. Even the people at the auto parts store said, you didnt buy one of these. Its not a Cadillac, its a piece of junk. Everything is going wrong with it, and it has cost us just about as much in repairs as the car did to begin with. And today we found out that a oil sensor is bad, but they tell us that if they try and replace it at the Cadillac dealer, there is a chance that it will mess up the entire engine, and the engine will have to be replaced. And Cadillac does not cover this, even though it is a design flaw. Do not buy this car. I have had other Cadillacs, and by far this is the worst.

  It is fast. The motor has a powerful noise to it. It never broke down on me. Its a small car and it has a sporty look.

  My Catera was in the shop numerous times. I quickly learned to hate the car. GM did nothing to help.

  My Cadillac Catera has been nothing but trouble. I have had to make many trips to the dealer for minor repairs. The last problem was that the battery would die every time it rained. I had to meke three trips to the dealer for this problem and they could find nothing wrong. I traded it in and am glad to be rid of it.

  After many times in the shop and finally a blown head gasket I sent this car to the junk yard. The mechanic at the dealer told me "this is the worts car they ever made" Germany with an Opel engine.

  I have owned a Catera for about two years and its been in the shop almost as long as its been on the road. It has had several problems, including overheating and electrical.

  Disappointment - 1997 Cadillac Catera

  I loved the Cateras ride. It is a fast, good handling car. I also liked the special Cadillac features like outside temp and auto headlights, etc. Unfortunately, parts, labor, and maintenance are expensive because the car was made in Germany. I had the car for a year and just couldnt stand fixing it anymore and traded it in for a simple Ford.

  Do not buy the Catera! It is the absolute worst car ever. I have had problems from the radio not working to replacing head gaskets. The car has probably been in the repair shop at least twice a month since I got it. Please do not purchase this car!

  Caddy Fun - 1997 Cadillac Catera

  My Catera has a quiet ride and Cadillac quality. It would be even better if it had more horsepower, but overall it makes a great graduation gift and after all, it is a Cadillac.
