  • My Best car ever - 1999 Cadillac Catera

Bought this one used (8Kmiles)for 21K in 2000. What a bargain. Dang shame they stopped making em. You know its about the most affordable large German car out there.

  • The 98 Cadillace Catera is a great car! - 1998 Cadillac Catera

The car yields a solid ride with a big car feel. It has a usefully tight radius of turn and always feels under control. It does well with regular fuel, with a feeling of plentiful power. Cruising at highway speeds is deceptive, easily achieving high speeds. The cruise control is accurate, easy to use, and very worthwhile at all speeds

  • what have I bought - 1999 Cadillac Catera

well what can I say this car has been in the shop more times than i can count. I bought the car used with only 5,000 miles on it. I thought I was getting myself into a nice vehicle. What I found is that these things have more problums than you can count. Steering to door locks to timeing belts, you name it coolant leaks. See autoweb.com for more. I can say RELIABILITY can be less than 0!!!

  • Happy Catera Owner - 1997 Cadillac Catera

A good German built Opel nicely dressed and rebadged as a Cadillac. It has very comfortable front and rear seats. Many good standard features: autolevel suspension, traction control, 4 wheel disc / antilock brakes, memory seats and mirrors, fold down rear seats or center (40/20/40), autolights, all windows auto up and down. I think this car is undervalued in the US market.

  • So, so - 1998 Cadillac Catera

At 53", this is the first vehicle that I bought to fit me and not my 62" husband. I find the interior perfectly fitted to my stature. I find it fun to drive it has nice pick up and its great on curves. I am disappointed in the mechanics of the car. It has been in the shop for malfunctioning power seats, CD, and the serpentine belt broke at 30,000 miles, breaks replaced twice, rotars once, and three sets of tires. The Cadillac dealer tells me that the Catera is hard on tires. At 72,000 miles, the car intermittently refuses to start. This is a Cadillac it should not have this type of problem at 72,000 miles, especially when I have had all of the scheduled maintenance!!!

  • A Very Under rated Vehicle - 1999 Cadillac Catera

Just simply a very under rated vehicle. Can compete with the best of the Japanese or European cars in the same price range. Have owned it for three years with no problems at all.

The Catera has been a fun car to drive with no problems whatsoever.

  • My 2000 Catera - 2000 Cadillac Catera

This is my second Catera, the first being a 1997. I really liked that car, although I had a few annoying problems with it. I have had none of those problems with the 2000 model, and have thoroughly enjoyed driving the car. It has the road manners of a German sport sedan without the premium price.

I have found this car to really be a fun car to drive. Its acceleration is good and has the power to get you where you want to go. Ive gotten used to the styling to where I actually smile when I look at it. The thing that I find most annoying is the placement of the cup holders. Ive driven many cars in my life and that should be the biggest problem I ever have. The service from Cadillac is excellent as I left my lights on and the battery died. They repalced the battery and sent me on my way. Now thats service, white gloves and all.

  • Catera hardship - 2000 Cadillac Catera
    By -

I bought my Catera about a month ago. I had been looking to buy a new one but they stop making them and this was the only one on the lot. Got a great deal on the car and about two weeks later the windsheilds decided it wanted to crack. So they put me in a Deville and I feel in love and traded my Catera the next day.
