  • Good performer. - 2000 Cadillac Catera

So far, the Catera has not had one mechanical problem nor warranty repair save the key fob. The seats are comfortable and the controls are all within reach. The car is larger than others i looked at making it comfortable for four and luggage. It handles well though not razor sharp. The Goodyear RSAs are not adequate.

  • Car with Class yet Fun to Drive - 1997 Cadillac Catera

The looks and style shows class on the outside. Behind the wheel you can feel the workmanship. Maybe a little under powered, but the handling makes up for that. This car corners and stays flat and very stable.

  • DONT BUY IT!! - 2000 Cadillac Catera

Not a reliable car. Resale is horrible. Ive been told by the mechanics at the dealership that its impossible to fix a Catera because its a foreign car. NOT A GM!

I stopped counting Cadilacs at my fifteenth. This Catera I bought used has been very reliable and provided excellent service so far. It has a crisp, taylored feel to it which is nice. The handling and performance and fuel economy are excellent. I normally use premium, but I have been buying regular gas for it and it has performed well, averaging 24 mpg. There are no squeeks or rattles and it has a solid quality feel: for a small car it does not feel cheap. While it is not as luxurious as other Cadillacs I own, it does have all the Cadillac features you would want the car to have. My overall feel of the car is that it has been very undervalued due to its plain styling.

  • 98 Catera Nice German/American Car. - 1998 Cadillac Catera

Solid feeling car, handles extremely well, great sound system, well crafted. Conservative style yet classy and understated. Completely overshadows the 1998 ES300 Lexus, or Camery, in luxury and feel but that does not take alot to do with boring Japanese cars in this price range. It may be true that you can drive japanese cars harder only then to toss them away, but if you want a nice car to own and you drive responsibly, Catera is a good choice. A great value in the used market.

  • Dont buy one new or used - 2000 Cadillac Catera

Have had nothing but problems since Nov98 when I purchased it. In the shop appox 30x you name it has broken GM gave me an extened warranty 75000 or 60 months to make up but. I wanted to trade it in after a year and a half but this thing was worth 1/3 of purchase price due to problems with them. Dealer I bought from didnt want it. I will never buy a Cadillac again.

  • Dont get caught - 1997 Cadillac Catera

My father has purchased nothing but Cadillacs for as long as I can remember. You can imagine how excited I was to purchase my first. Low mileage and every feature I wanted. Well, it would be nice to drive the car instead of repairing all the time. Leaks in power steering, ABS, Traction control and to top it off $400 for brake pads. This car has been a nightmare. I want out and cant get enough for it to pay off the loan!

  • PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY - 1999 Cadillac Catera
    By -

I purchased a 1999 Cadillac Catera in June, 2001. To date, it has been in the shop at least eight (8) times. The transmission light stays on (though Cadillac can never figure out why), the radiator light comes and goes, the radiator has gone bad twice, the check engine light stays on (again, though Cadillac cannot figure out why), the tires go bad quickly and the front end alignment is always out of whack. Please, dont waste your money. I paid 20,000 and it is not only worth $10,000 on a trade.

  • Oye, Cateras break down a lot! - 2000 Cadillac Catera
    By -

Lets see, before 20k miles, New tires, 10 balances on the old tires, new breaks and rotors, 8 new window sensors, rear subframe was not bolted on from the factory (car drove sideways ate tires) which Cadillac was kind enough to make me pay for (12k miles). Car is rusting (again Cadillac is letting me pay for the fix). 5 different times the check engine lights came on. Puked radiator fluid allover my garage, (towed), puked tranny fluid in my garage (towed). Moon roof locks up pretty much all of the time, but I figured out how to reset it. I will never buy another Cadillac
