  • Excellent Machine - 1997 Cadillac Catera

Although, the interior has mechanical issues those who are complaining about cost do not buy a Mercedes Benz or BMW after all its German made. Foreign parts are expensive but I love it & I dont care how much I have to pay. My motto is if you treat it right. It will treat you right. IF you hate this you will hate a 98 ford Contour. I have 181,000 miles on it & it does not drive or sound smooth like the catera. My wife & I are spoiled with the catera. So do not buy this car for looks. Buy it for responsibility. Dont worry about what people say form your own opinions. I would rather have a German machine than an American made machine. They tend to fall apart after it reaches 180,000 miles.

Car has too many problems and too expensive to fix. I recently had to do some motorwork which ended up costing me $2,100. And 6 months later im having more problems with it.

This is one of our favorite cars we have owned. Overall excellent comfort and performance and fun to drive. Initial quality problems disappeared over time. The longer we owned it, the better we liked it.

  • Whats not to like? - 1997 Cadillac Catera

My 97 Catera gets 31 mpg on the highway and 22 in the city. It handles better than my last Mercedes, and is cheaper to fix. Yes, it has had some minor issues, but so do all cars. If this is a poor quality car, I want more like it built in the USA!!

  • Nice Car !!! - 1997 Cadillac Catera

ive had my Catera for about 8 months and love it. I have back problems and I find the car VERY comfortable. People are always asking what kind of car it is, everyone loves it. Its got style, class and all in a car that is not too big but extremely comfortable for even five adults.

Had planned on replacing my Catera with the new CTS until I saw the CTS, then decided to keep the Catera. We like the exterior lines of the Catera much better than the CTS and we are completely satisfied with everyting about it, so concluded we had no reason to update.

  • So far SO GOOD!! - 1997 Cadillac Catera

I have shopped for a used car for several weeks- and its not fun. There wasnt much out there that fit my requirements- Under 9K, low mileage, fun to drive but space for kids... I drove a beat up Catera first, and it drove like a dream! Corners excellent, and the sport transmission is fun and zippy. I started looking for a Catera in nice shape, and ended up with one in PERFECT condition. Seats look like new, every option, etc. The back seat has air vents and heated seats for the kids, the back seats fold down into the roomy trunk. I am having an absolute blast blowing away people on the interstate- hope I dont get a ticket soon.

  • Sporty and Fun - 1997 Cadillac Catera

Owned car since 1999, and still do. Good road handling, feel, and performance. Incredibly sharp car when it is clean, and leather interior is a great feature! The major drawback is that the car cant use chains in snowstorm. Not the best car for religious skiers, however it is okay in light snow.
