This Year's Model Updates:

A luxurious Ultra model has been added to the lineup that features an all-new V6, a monochrome exterior and heavy doses of wood and leather trim inside. A DVD-based navigation system is now on the options list for the CXL and the Ultra, and XM Satellite Radio is now available on all models. GM's head-up display is now available on the CXL as a stand-alone option.

Pros:
  • Usable third-row seats that fold flat, comfortable ride, plenty of interior storage, lots of options available.
Cons:
  • Weak engine on standard models, good-looking but cheap-feeling interior materials, options push price up quickly, no off-road ability.

Very comfortable, fun to drive. I wish there was some way to keep the dust from collecting on the back. Hard to keep clean because of this. Wished it had more "zip" when I go to pass someone.

Weve had a 2002 CXL and now have a 2004. Its been comfortable and relaible. We like the appearance/functionality. Guests like the back seat. Its even better on the highway than I expected. Well equipped and well built. Even with AWD, its not a vehicle you buy to go off-road.

We have only had the vehicle for 2 months but we are happy with the comfortable ride and the roominess inside. We test drove many SUVs and while this one wasnt rated the best, we both liked the ride and how it handled. We feel it has adequate power and the gas mileage is no worse then my 1995 Mercury Mystique. We got 24 mpg on the highway trip we just took and are getting 17/18 mpg in city driving. The vehicle still has 24,000/2yrs of bumper to bumper warrenty left. We like the styling of the vehicle, doesnt look like all the other SUVs on the road.

  • Minor quality issues - 2004 Buick Rendezvous

After 18000 miles, a trip to Florida from NY with the family, I would have to say it is a good vehicle. Some minor issues with the hatchback, and the rear wiper motor had to be replaced already. Handling is good except in tight high speed turns where it feels top heavy. Over all I love the vehicle, especially the all wheel drive in winter. I would buy another if they held thier value better, but after losing half the value of the purchase price in one year I would advise against buying one unless you plan on keeping it around for at least 4 years. Plenty of power and room. The sound system lacks alot. Road noise is a little more than expected, but tollerable.

Have had this vehicle for six months and it is better than expected. My mileage has been between 27 and 28 mpg on trips. It is very quiet and comfortable. It feels nimble and responsive. Only one minor repair, low fuel warning not working required reprograming the computer. The sound system is very powerful. The large outside mirrors help for backing, otherwise visibility out the rear window is restricted due to high profile. The center console is the best I have ever used, many useful compartments. Front wheel drive gives better performance and mileage, and reduces repair bills.

I really like this vehicle. Its the first SUV Ive owned. I shopped for months before deciding to buy. Was turned off by the outside looks, but the price and interior won me over. Its a fun vehicle to own, plan on having a long time.Only repair so far was a bouncing gas guage and high idle, needed computer adjustment. Still seems to idle high to me.

  • Great Ride - 2004 Buick Rendezvous

I bought this vehicle after much study, and after owning sedans for my entire car-life. I have been extremely pleased with it, and have driven it on two long and challenging trips, as well as around town. I like the room, comfort and handling. Lots of space for child and the many trips to the home improvement store. I would purchase it again in a minute, and have not regretted my purchase in the least.

  • bad brakes on 2003 cxl - 2004 Buick Rendezvous

at 20,000 miles I just had the second set of brakes installed. Also the hubs for the all wheel drive needed to be replaced at 19,000 miles. back hatch opens when a bump is hit on the road. hatch will not go all the way up (keep hitting your head) lift shocks were changed at 3000 miles but they do the same thing as the originals did

  • Another great Buick Value - 2004 Buick Rendezvous

Traded in my first new Buick, a 1996 Skylark that I was outgrowing. Wanted something bigger that could handle cargo, etc. Test drove the Dodge Magnum-was expensive, and only 70 cu fr of cargo capacity-passengers sit low with high windo sill. Liked the Rendezvous, and took advantage of rebate and good trade in on my 9 yo Skylark. I would not consider it if I had to pay $35k list price (paid $23k) as it lacks power lift gate and refined engines other competitiors offer. Some interior pieces feel cheap. But, overall, for $23k, is great deal!!

  • sleek and fun - 2004 Buick Rendezvous

This is my first SUV to own but I have driven several of my friends cars . This beats all of them in ride quality. Talk about comfort ! I love the Onstar and the wireless phone, feel much safer knowing I can press a button and get help if I need it. Sound system is great, and the steering wheel controls are just awesome. Yes, its a little pricey on gas but nothing major.
