Getting 29 on the highway. Will get even better than that when I put ZMax in it. Excellent quality and reliability. Quiet smooth ride. Very comfortable. Classic American Luxury for the right price.

Over all the car is good. Transmission was bad but replaced transmission and added a cooler to extend the life of the transmission. The replacement of the front struts was so easy it took only 1/2 hour per side to replace. The rear exhaust manafold was cracked replaced that when the transmission was installed. Car runs like new gets over 25 mpg. Used Bosch 4 electrode spark plugs. The 3.1 liter is a strong engine. The car is kind of light. The ABS system is needed because the car is so light.

  • Best Ever! - 1996 Buick Regal

Bought used with 46,000mi and have 120,000. Has been unbelievably reliable. Outside of new tires and routine brake work, only replaced the belt, a radiator and an alternator. Always starts up like a dream. Most comfortable seats. Great engine. Bought an 01 Regal based on experience with this one, but it doesnt even come close in driveablilty or reliability.

  • Awesome car - 1996 Buick Regal

We bought a 1996 Buick Regal for $3000 with only 62,500 miles on it. It is the smoothest car out of our 2 other cars. The engine is a tiny bit loud, but that is because of the age. The sound of the radio of 100x better than our other Buick. Sound quality is superb! I feel very comfortable in this car going 80mph. Although this car is 10 years old, the quality is still superb.

  • Nothing beats a Buick! - 1996 Buick Regal

This car is great.. it handles and drives quite nicely. Performance is adequate and styling is nice. I have owned mine for 4 years and it now has 95K miles on it and have had no major problems other then routine maintenance. The car has ice cold air and is fantastic on gas with the 3.1 engine. You can get some real good deals on these so if you are on a tight budget, look around as you can find a good deal on one of these and still own a GOOD quality American made car.

  • Very Impressed - 1996 Buick Regal

I have had my Buick for 4 years & only had to replace rear struts & alternator. That is great for a car with 198,000 miles on it. All major parts & transmission is original. Proper care of trans flushes & oil changes I believe will have this car another 100,000 miles. I WILL NOT GIVE IT UP EASILY! I never had a car so dependable before, not even foreign. I definately got my moneys worth out of this one!

  • Good everyday car - 1996 Buick Regal

Purchased car with 25,000 now have 75,000. No major problems, but did have fairly costly replacement of tail light because dampness in tail light assembly caused light to short out often. Interior switch to automatically unlock doors does not always work. Brakes are noisy they work but I think that the pedal feels soft as compared to other brands of rental cars I often drive. Otherwise just routine maintenance. Roomy interior and trunk.

  • Great car. - 1996 Buick Regal

This is a great car, I get almost 25MPG in the city driving no more than 5mph above the speed limit and accelerating soft. Take care of the transmission, my car has 140,000 miles and I already need to replace the transmission on it, still drives fine though. Overall this is a great car, I plan to keep this car for 200,000+ miles.

  • Last of "big Regals" - 1996 Buick Regal

Aside from GMs decision to cut weight in the wrong places & start to make "pewter" brake rotors in all sedans from the mid-90s to the present, this car has been fabulous ! No maintenance expense aside from recomended chart routine. Im getting great gas mileage on the interstates. Its made my previous Grand-Am seem to ride like a buck-board! Im keeping it till the wheels fall off!

  • 96 Regal GS - 1996 Buick Regal
    By -

Ive owned my 96 Regal GS for 3 years now and its been a joy to own and drive. The only major fix was replacing the fuel pump a few years ago but, other than that, have just performed regular maint. Its got good power and performance with great gas mileage for the vehicle type. Even with it being 9 years old, its still in excellent condition and looks better than the newer Buicks on the road.
