Overview & Reviews
The high-performance X5 4.6is is discontinued. The 3.0i and 4.4i receive an exterior update, as well as a new all-wheel-drive system called xDrive. A six-speed manual transmission is now standard on the 3.0i, and a six-speed automatic is standard on the 4.4i. The 4.4i also receives a new 4.4-liter engine with Valvetronic and a fully variable intake system. Both models can add Sirius Satellite Radio and Bluetooth hands-free cell phone capability as dealer-installed accessories.
- Rides and drives like a BMW sedan, multiple drivetrain choices, top safety scores, high-end cabin furnishings.
- Less interior volume than a 5 Series wagon, price goes up quickly with options, poor fuel economy in the city.

Amazing Car - 2004 BMW X5
By Zooter - June 20 - 2:00 amMy mom just bought one of these beasts and then broke her leg so ive been driving it. Let me tell you.. this car is amazing and is the ultimate driving machine. It handles like a sportscar and has enough power to destroy anyone at a stoplight. Even with the 20 rims, the ride is very nice. All the gizmos and gadgets just add to this spectacular car. The GPS is top of the line and works like a charm. Complete genius in the creating of the machine. Much props to the people at BMW for this SAV.

Awsome - 2004 BMW X5
By milano-michigan - June 14 - 2:00 amTruly magnificent.Smooth ride as one can not imagine.Powerful engine that is great on the highway and in the city. Fun to drive...one feels "at home" right away. getting 21.5 MPG on the highway, around 15 in town, only 500 miles on it. You need to watch yoyur speed, though ...since you dont realize how fast you are going.

BMW, X5 3.0 - 2004 BMW X5
By wingersoll - June 13 - 2:00 amI went to the BMW Center at Spartanburg to pick up the vehicle. It is a great experience and I had the opportunity to drive an identical vehicle on both the road track and off-road track at whatever extremes I had the nerve and capability to handle, so I can guarantee it is stable and will peform as I have come to expect from a BMW. It is exceptionally smooth for an SUV.

Whole new BMW - 2004 BMW X5
By BMW happy - June 13 - 2:00 ami used to own a 80s BMW and hated it. never looked at another one for 2 decades until people convinced me otherwise. things definitely have changed for sure. as the result, i just purchased a X5 and it drives beautifully and turn heads all over the place. my percepton on BMWs have changed completely. X5 has plenty of power, smoothness of american cars, solidness of european made cars, looks of japanese cars, and its own class of BMW! just drove 400 mils on a road trip and it is awesome!

Looks good moving or standing still - 2004 BMW X5
By Jim Chiminatta - June 6 - 2:00 amGreat handling and great looking vehicle, the ride is a little harsh with the sports package. The only other thing I note is that the paint job is not the quality of the bmws built off shore.

What an Excellent Machine - 2004 BMW X5
By xfizzle - June 3 - 2:00 amThe BMW x5 is perhaps the most elegantly designed, sport SUV available. The vehicle rides and handles like a dream. It is essentially a 5 series that is disguised as an SUV. The 3.0 is perfectly adequate for the average consumer looking for a reasonably priced sport SUV. The 4.4 is for the true enthusiast who desires the added performance of the larger engine. We wont even discuss the dream of the new 4.8.

bmw x5 - 2004 BMW X5
By poopy - May 16 - 2:00 amthe bmw x5 is an unbelievable car. The gas milage is much better than most of the other suvs i have used and its 4.4 liter v8 engine is terrific. Furthermore i reccomend the bmw x5 to drivers out there who want a car that has a lot of space and which works well on the road.

Wow! What a Ride!! - 2004 BMW X5
By RocketManWow - May 10 - 2:00 amWell, What can I say...This new BMW X5 4.8is is a Rocket. I have all the bells and whistles, and it all seemed to work fine. However, after just 3000 miles in a week, I wrapped it around a pole off of HWY 169 near Burnsville MN, I think I was exceeding the speed limit by 100 mph, or so. It was a wild ride, all the airbags appeared to work fine. Looking for car insurance now to purchase another one!!!
